Great course
The course was in excellent condition even after all the rain over the last few days. The greens were in great condition this course is definitely my firm favourite.
Course in great condition compared to the ness off greens last year , would recommend it now to anyone who enjoys a good course.
Back to its best.
This course has gone through some pretty significant reparation after their greens were damaged. They have done a fantastic job with the course now back in top order. Greens are excellent. It has a bit of everything. I used pretty much every club in the bag. It was a practise round for a trip to the algarve this week and the conditions couldn’t have been better.
POOR condition
Have played this course many times. Always been in great condition.... until yesterday. Wasn’t made aware on booking that temporary greens were being used 1 thru 8. Even when phoning course to advance book a buggy wasn’t not informed of state of course. One of the more expensive courses in my area so feel short changed by conditions.
Great course, poorly managed !
The course is a good well laid out course.
On the day we played the first 8 holes were on temporary greens due to the the wrong application being applied to the greens which was not mentioned at time of booking. Also when we teed if we had no one in front or behind us which was perfect, until we reached the tenth hole then we we greater by a group of kids and there parents and I asked if they were just starting which they were and they had been told that they could start there which is not good course management or etiquette. All in all a good course but was poorly managed and not in good condition.
Greens
Course has so much potential but so little tlc. It’s well cut- as in the grass is short where it should be. That’s it. It’s not well watered not well re-seeded, divots everywhere, bunkers aren’t well maintained, the greens are in horrendous condition- what’s worse- on 10 of them there are huge destroyed compacted muck bits that are not being treated in any way to recover them. Leave your putter at home because the current greens are not worth putting on.
Either hilton have no green staff that really care about the course or they are given a terrible budget to maintain the course. I love this course- I’d nearly volunteer to go and help fix it. Hilton please invest in this course and bring it to the standard it deserves. It could easily be one of the best courses in Ireland- but as of today it has a long, long way to go.
Poor
Attended the course on the 27th July with a business client and was utterly disappointed with the conditions of the course. When we arrived we where informed that only nine holes where available to play and the other nine where operating temporary greens. At this time of the year the greens should be in perfect condition in my opinion. Our whole day was ruined and the fact that we paid for this makes things even worse .. I can attach photos of the surfaces if anyone would like to see them ..
Very poor condition
We play this course on a fairly regular basis and usually enjoy the experience but at the minute they have 8 temporary greens and the rest of the greens are in a terrible condition. Played on the 22 of July I would ring the course and find out what state the greens are in before booking again, but from what we saw it will be a long time before they sort that out......
Green conditions
Greens where terrible first 8 temporary although was informed by hilton staff day before is a fantastic course and a real pity the greens were so bad some sort of treatment by Green keepers destroyed the grass will not be playing again until next year also hilton hotel group could have given us money off or a few golf balls to make up for the greens

I finally got another chance to play this course in better weather. So I invited my friend to join me and told him he was in for a treat.
That was not the case. The tee boxes, fairways and greens were scorched from the good weather we had. To be fair as I was booking this, the app said that the greens were not up to normal standard, as did the pro in the shop. This kind of prepared us but not for the complete lack of grass on most of the greens. Some of which were completely unplayable but most were ok.
Fairways were fine with some vary bare lies. There was plenty of run and it's always nice to hit of a dry fairway. Bunkers looked unmaintained and Abit shabby for a course of this standard.
We both payed 19.50 for this course and I can see why it's a £20 course. Long testing par 4/5s that really force you to hit straight of the tee or you are in the rough stuff. Par threes were testing Aswel. There had finally put a few next hole markers but not enough around the 9th to 10th holes, We both ended up driving off the 18th instead of the 9th.
Considering the conditions we had an enjoyable time and still recommend playing this course but not after a drought. I will try and get back for a third time to play in more ideal conditions.
Great amenities putting/pitching and driving range. All be it scorched.
Hilton golf
Looking forward to playing this course booked online checked in with the pro never mentioned greens where in bad state felt like walking of after 9 back 9 holes slightly just better than front the rest of the course was spot on . Walked back in after playing told them was happy with conditions of greens then says greenkeeper put wrong fertiliser on them didn't offer any discount or anything. Played this course many times this was worst I had ever seen it .
Terrible greens
Booked this course as it appeared to be good value. Having played the course many times before I was looking forward to a well presented course as on previous occasions.
But when we arrived on the first “Green” or should I say “Brown” only to find all the grass was dead, which we only found out afterwards that not only the first but all but two greens where grassless due to inappropriate fertiliser being used.
I felt we should have been advised of this prior to playing.
When the rain came as it does in mid summer in Ireland the putting surface turned muddy and unplayable.
We did complain to Golf now and got a full refund, but still felt short changed on a waste of time, of which was a Father’s Day treat from my sons and wife.
However the food in the noisy grill was ok.
Brilliant fun
Only play golf for a bit of fun, so you find some places to be quite unfriendly when you turn up with old clubs and old gear.
I was expecting much of the same here but couldn’t be more wrong, very friendly staff at the golf club shop. The course was very well kept and a brilliant layout, good mix hole types and hazards. Best game of golf in a long time. Very under rated.
Good Winter option
Course was in good condition considering the previous 2 weeks weather. Fairways all dry, greens in good condition. No temporaries. Not too many parkland courses you can play at this time of year. Good test at all times of the year
Great condition for time of year
Played Hilton in early November and was very pleased with the condition of the course. Despite large amounts of rain in recent weeks the course was generally firm under foot with only the odd exception. The greens were very good running true and quite fast for winter golf. The only downside was the amount of leaves on some holes were a good shot could still lead to a lost ball. Overall a great test of golf and I would recommend the Hilton to anyone who hasn’t yet played it.
Experience
Loved the breakfast in hotel then 18 holes of golf .
For under £25 .
Highly recommend hilton .
