Good design
Really enjoyed this course. Good condition overall.testing greens. Only negative long grass in rough made it hard to find balls pity it was not just a bit shorter. But still enjoyed the club as a whole.
Easy arrival process at Proshop. Nice course in good condition. Undulating but easy enough to walk. Big greens test your putting. Will be going back
Good layout.Not in Winter
Played SR a couple of times in Winter & soft & wet each time.Bunkers generally in poor condition.
It is a great layout & excellent in Summer.
Lots of kangaroos
Nice course
Course management good especially fairway and green.
Worth your time
We are new to the Melbourne area and have played 8 courses in the area and this is the Winner. Great price, nice atmosphere and friendly staff. We had to park on the street but that was no issue.
Solid Track in Melbourne’a east
A very solid golf course in Melbourne’s east. I thoroughly enjoyed my round. Playing in the depths of winter the course was muddy and wet in some areas but the fairways were generally offering good lies. Greens are quick, undulating and fairly true.
While the course is nowhere near the vaunted sand belt, looking around some of the green And bunker complexes, one could easily mistake it for some of Melbournes more prestigious golf destinations!
Another interesting aspect is the native wildlife. Kangaroos abound. While there is a warning about them attacking, the ones we saw couldn’t care less about the golfers around them. A particular group has taken a liking to the area between the 10th and 18th fairway.
The 4th hole a short par 4 is an interesting hole - a favourable wind could see a big hitter having a dash at the green. There is a bailout area right but heavy bunkering guards the green. Better off laying back and attacking with a wedge.
The club has friendly staff, excellent chipping and putting green And a big driving range. A good day out.
Challenging but rewarding course.
Played in a group of four, the course offered challenges on the front and back nine, requiring thought and tactics to negotiate successfully. Recommend carts for the long and hilly terrain, the weather adds to the characteristics of the course. Worthy of skilled and intermediate players alike.
