Please read, and save your money
Hopefully I can guide a few people so they do not waste their money or time on this course as we did. It is not worth saving the $4-$5 per player greens fees that you would incur playing at a far nicer course.
This was my first time playing the course, and we will never go back, not even if you paid me. The driving range was abysmal and there was very little grass to hit from. They could have easily moved the ropes, but apparently are either too lazy or short-staffed to do so. The putting green was, however, immaculate and in great shape. They didn’t have any cart keys for us when we checked in, so we were forced to wait. When they finally came, they parked them out front but we had no idea where the first hole was. There were no signs and we ultimately teed off the 10th just because it was adjacent to the clubhouse, thinking it was the 1st.
The course itself is just horrendous. The game is played around the greens and they were terrible at best. If you are on the fringe, or have a long putt, just forget about putting. Chip it. There are large burned-out areas, and if you putt you will have no directional control over. On one green, I counted 26 ball marks. Most of the others were similar; I guess the majority of people who play there take no pride in the course.
After hitting a home on one hole, the homeowner came out to confront us. It was a fade, but the hole was tight. I hit far worse shots that day, just this is the one that got a home. If there was not a fence separating the home from the tee boxes, who knows what would have happened. The clubhouse was quick to call authorities once reported.
On seven occasions a car beeped their horn on our backswing. Now this is no fault of the course, however, it does give a good indication of the playing conditions and the cliental in the surrounding area. Many holes you need to cross heavy traffic just to get to the next tee box; it just does not provide a good golfing experience.
We chose this course to save a couple of bucks, but now wished I would have spent $20 more per player to play elsewhere. It was just an awful experience and my only goal in writing this is to help advise others who may be looking to play here in the future. There are many other courses in the area to choose from, and your experience and game will be much better.
First Time back in 12 years
Golf carts were so slow, even if we tried to drive 18 holes with out stopping, it would take 4 hours. The greens grass was so long, that it was impossible to putting in any sort of normal manor. I used to enjoy this course back in the day, however I most likely won't be back to play again at this course for another 12-years.
You’d think it would be better for the price
Just a preface. The course is not bad. The course is however very short, does not have the nicest fairways or most well maintained bunkers, carts are very slow and has very slow greens. The grain on the greens actually look good but they were just overgrown, making them so slow.
I wouldn’t play this course again for anything less than 35$.
Gas carts are old and balky
“Fairways “ don’t have grass
Greens are like putting on my carpet
No course
This was my second time playing here. The person in the front desk was friendly and courteous. Finding the different holes was very easy to find with signs every where pointing you in the right direction. Fairways and greens are well maintained. Parking isn't an issue. The only issue is with people in front of you being so slow. I would suggest a online questionnaire to find out the persons handicap and slot them accordingly to speed up the game. Other than that, it's a nice place to golf.
PAR
The course is quite challenging very tight.
If you want to practice accuracy this is the course for you. The staff very professional and friendly.
Great value, friendly staff
Nice course with a very friendly staff. Will play again.
Nice Little Urban Course
Course is in very good shape, rough around the greens but typical for a dry season. Short course but small greens makes it challenging. Staff very helpful. I'll play again
Very nice course to tune your skills
Greens were great, Bartenders were awesome and the food too. Can’t wait to come back!
Good day!
We’ve played five rounds since the month of February. 2 at Casselberry, one at Eagle dunes, one at Black Bear, one at the old Mount Dora out of the five rounds. Casselberry had the best greens, played two weeks ago greens as prior comment said they were fuzzy needed to be cut, yesterday they were in great shape. As for pace of play teed off a couple of minutes before 10 we were done by 12:30 fastest round that the two of us has played in months. It was great, beautiful weather couldn’t ask for a better day.
Don't waste your time or money. Greens small and extremely slow. Limited grass in the fairways.
Very Slow Greens, course in pretty good condition
All was good. Just need to mow and roll the greens. Like putting on indoor/outdoor carpet. Everything else was good.
Casselberry a Great Option
Near Orlando, fun course, great variety of holes, a great way to spend an afternoon.
Ok course for the money
This is a value course. Carts were a bit wonky but staff is very friendly. Front nine is much more challenging than the back but overall a very enjoyable day.
Pleasant surprise
With all the bad reviews, I was hesitant to try this course. I’m glad I did, what a pleasant surprise. The greens were in awesome shape, smaller in size, but roll true. Fairways were in decent shape a few spots where you had to move your ball, tee boxes were also in very good shape and mostly level. Definitely playing here again. AS IN TOMORROW !!!! Staff was very helpful and delightful to deal with.
first time
This course will hit you fast, right out the shoot. The first 5, 6 holes have some type of water located just at the right spots. Needless to say we lost a few balls early on. It settles down nicely and actually played very well. Now i know what to expect next time.
