Disregard any negative review for this course! Played the Valley course and it was in fantastic condition. From tee to green absolutely terrific, from the lush fairways to the true rolling greens to the amazing views of the mountains. The staff was very nice and helpfull. Do not listen to the bad reviews about having to carry your clubs up steps or not to helpfull staff. Just drop your clubs at the club drop and the staff takes care of the rest taking them down to the course level and returning them to drop area following your round. Will be making this course a regular stop on my visits to the desert in the future. Had an amazing day of golf!!

This would be a great place to ski but the elevation changes makes playing golf very difficult and it blocks clear views of the hazards. The course is in great shape. The fairways are very green and lush and the greens roll true. The four of us liked teh Valley course much better.

I normally play at muni course...so the exceptional rating, but this was a great course! The weather was in the mid 80's with a slight breeze, it just couldn't be better! The greens and fairways were manicured with roughs just the right height...green and lush. The pace of play was so good that I never had to wait at any tee box. I would recommend this course to everyone!!

I got the time on Golf Now for $40 which makes me an even luckier guy.

Player Tip: If you are a little wild with your driver, I'd recommend taking a couple of extra sleeves of balls. The hazards are pretty deep.

Scored a great deal for a Noon tee time at the Palms Course. The weather was heavenly for the beginning of May, just a slight breeze. Fairways were immaculate, bunkers were mostly soft and fluffy...though a few were stupidly compacted and rock hard. Greens rolled rather well, but they need to do a better job at replacing the pin locations from previous days.

Staff was friendly, but not overly so. The gentleman who cleaned my clubs afterwards was the most pleasant person on hand. Very little interaction with the staff, which is not a bad thing. I'm never a fan of dropping my clubs unattended though, it'd be nice to see someone standing out front by the bag drop.

Pace was excellent once the foursome ahead of us let my partner and I play through. We finished in 3:15. Had it not been for the overly slow group ahead of us at the start, we'd have been done in under 3 hours easily.

An excellent value for a beautiful course!

The best thing about the round was the STARTER, he made you feel like you were home and had a fantastic personality. Would play there again for the golf, and to thank the STARTER, who had left before we finished the round.

Hope someone from Marriott gets a copy of this review, and acts on it.

I would have given 5 stars if the rental clubs were better. The Taylor made set was OK at best but, the grips we're so worn by worn I mean slick that I was melting them trying to hold on. Even with a brand new glove. It really does change things

Love the course and will get my revenge next time..... With my own sticks

For high handicappers, the course is too long and too hilly. It has hidden water hazards that are not obvious because the GPS screen for yardage is too small. It is not friendly to women golfers with mid to high handicaps. Typical Pete Dye layout, he is totally oblivious to the difference between a PGA Tournament Players Course and a resort course. In a resort area Jack Nicklaus course is a better choice for mid handicappers, high handicappers, and PGA professionals. The pace of play today was excellent, but the cours was not busy.

The course was in good condition. The staff were as expected except don't expect a beverage cart every half dozen holes. The off course amenities are very nice because it is a Marriot resort hotel, multiple restaurants and bars with visually pleasing views.

My parents recently retired to the coachella valley and my Dad and I have taken on the challenge of playing as many different courses as we possibly can. Seems like in as short amount of time as possible as well. We seem to be coming back to the valley course. Course conditions are consistently top notch. I did notice a few brown spots on various areas of the course yesterday. There were none last month when we played. Needless to say, the course allows you to score but it's still challenging. Get ready for uneven lies and stances, even if you're in the fairway. If you play on a Monday, it will be like you're playing at your own country club. We played in under 3 1/2 hours.

I played this course on a Saturday. When I looked at the course layout at the proshop, I thought I made a mistake by selecting the wrong course (Palm layout looked more interesting). Boy, was I wrong. The Valley course was very impressive. This is no 'easy resort' course. You need to pay attention here. The course features undulating fairways, tiered greens, strategic water hazards and scenery galore. The opening hole is a wake up call with undulation and a green sitting down in a hole. #18 is a scenic hole with beautiful flowers and water hazard. The #16 island green is a great example of a picturesque hole. What a treat. I'll be back and try the Palms next time, but won't be disappointed if they put me on the Valley again.

Great fairways, greens in good condition, ran true, not fast but rewarded good alignment, rough not punishing, good resort course, most holes visually accessible, good number of par 5's, challenging par 3's and enough water to keep you honest, cart came around about 4 times which was nice because it was warm, Marshall could have been more visible to assist although it was not crowded.

Overall a very pleasant day at a very beautiful, well maintained, manicured course. I would not hesitate to play this course again.

The course is in great condition. The pace of play was excellent--just about 3 hours or so to a round in early morning time. The greens are speedy yet true--you can't blame the greens for missed putts. Every hole has its challenges: short par-4's typically have greens surrounded by deep bunkers AND undulating, 3-level greens. Par 3's are either long (over 200 yds), surrounded by water (almost an island green; very picturesque), or protected by deep bunkers. All in all, a challenging course with generous fairways.

Player Tip: many sand traps; they are deep and difficult to get out, so stay away from the traps

Took three friends from SF here to play (handicaps 16-30) and the high handicappers thought the course was too hard for them with forced carries, too many blind fairway shots, elevated greens, slow greens, lots of water coming into play, and slow pace of play. However, it is a very pretty and challenging course and is in excellent condition.
