This course had the worst greens I have ever played on. There wasn’t any grass on them. It was all sand and seeds(?) The fairways weren’t much better. I realize it’s early in the season, but other courses in the area are not like this one. I paid $29 for 18 holes through Golf Now and in retrospect that was an overpayment.
No greens.
Still no greens ,just green sand. Worth 15 bucks. Golf now get it together...everybody play somewhere else...maybe in 4 months..
Underrated
This is a great layout and fun course, lots of elevation changes and interesting holes. Right now the greens are recovering from a sanding so be patient.
No Greens
When I saw maintenance being done a couple of months ago, I thought the greens would be in good condition by now. Wrong. I have no idea what’s happening with the greens but there is no grass on them. Whoever is carrying for the course and greens seems to have Forgot that if you don’t plant grass, it will not grow. It looks like the other maintenance has taken a backseat as well. I’ll have to take a pass on this one till It get better.
So much room for potential! (HONEST Review)
This course has so much potential and I would love to see it flourish. I am a St Pete native and when my wife needed to spend 6 hours in a business meeting near this course it was a no brainer to catch a round. The standout thing about this course is the staff and difficulty with there being MANY bunkers on every whole (fairway and green side). When reading the reviews I was very confused as to if it would be any good so I wanted to give my honest review.
Negative: The greens are in bad shape, sparse in areas heavily fertilized or covered with granulated sand. The biggest downfall of this course is its greens. The bunkers being not well maintained or messy. The vas amount of bunkers was actually fun for me because in my home city that isn’t prevalent so I enjoyed practice and shopping my skills more in fairway bunkers, with that said I wish they were well maintained and groomed. Lastly wish the driving range had more target.
Positives; The staff was very friendly and informational. The practice facilities are great, range, chipping green, putting green and bunker. The range balls were decently priced and the grass was nice to hit off of. The elevation was fun to play in since I dont much slope at all in my city.
Overall if you want a course to work on slope adjustments, bunkers and overall just iron and driver work this is a great value course for that, if you are wanting to work on your putts I would find another course with higher greens fees and conditions.
Del-Sandbox Club
Embarrassment! This course was not worth my hard earned cash! They call this place the Deltona Club… more like The Del-sandbox. I could not tell the difference between the greens and bunkers. Good luck trying to hold a green cause that thang flying once it releases. I wouldn’t play this course again if they paid me $40 bucks (our green fee, which I can’t even call it a green fee because the greens were a sandbox).
Great layout with elevation changes
Enjoyed our day at Deltona Club. Friendly welcome and allowed to start early. Greens could be in better shape but understandable given lack of rain. Really enjoyed the layout which has some excellent holes but main feature has to be the continual changes in elevation which makes this a real pleasant change from the flat Orlando courses.
Good bones, Needs TLC
This course has the makings of being a very good golf course. That said, it is not well maintained. Tees and fairways are well maintained and the bunkers aren't great either, although sand is a major feature and provides some great looks. It is a very good layout. Given we only paid $31 and were able to finish in 3 hours, it was still a worthwhile experience.
