Balcarrick
Very disappointed only 11 holes playable & half of them should have been closed
We were given the choice of playing the 11 & a few extra holes. We agreed but we’re very disappointed with the conditions 4 of these holes were not playable & the course should have been closed
You can check with staff as to the conditions!!

Balcarrick G.C.in great condition.
Played Balcarrick golf course on Mon 8th April 2024 for the first time in approx 12 - 15 years. Weather was quite bad lots of rain which is probably why I had the entire course to myself as didn't see even one other golfer out for my entire round which was great actually. Even with the bad weather the course was in fantastic condition and the greens were perfect also on every hole too. I really enjoyed my visit to Balcarrick especially after having not played the course in so long and the head pro in the pro-shop was also very friendly and helpful as well. I had a great day was delighted with my 36 pts and I will most definitely be back again soon as the course is good value for money and I highly recommend playing here to everybody.
Course closed due to heavy overnight rain. But I don’t get credit or refund . Ibook on golfnow app . I can’t contact golfnow support i never book again on golfnow app …no helping
Course not open
Booked a tee time on golf now for the course, paid through the app and got a confirmation email. 2 hours later I receive a text from the course to inform me it will remain closed due to flooding. So why was it listed on the app in the first place then. I’m now down the green fee. Not a good experience.
Golf cancelled last minute and no answer from call to club
This is not a review of the course but more about late cancellation by the club and no refund yet. I never got to play my round of golf. Duly paid for on Golf Now and not yet refunded. I got a text to tell me course was closed at 7:20am and tried ring the club to confirm it was genuine and now answer or voice message.
Poor day at a great course
Arrived at the course to be told that there was only 11 holes in play. Proceeded to the 1st tee to be moved twice as our two ball had to make way for 3-balls playing in a competition by the rudest member I’ve every met. We had a 20 minute wait on the second tee box and had 3 two balls behind us.
The course was soaked and personally should have been shut but played as we would not have been refunded.
The 11 holes took us over three and a half hours with us waiting at least 5-8 mins on every tee box because of the 3 ball members in front, every shot was the same and not once would they acknowledge this and call us through- they were members.
I have played this course multiple times before but this was an absolute disaster and I wouldn’t be rushing back.
Fun course
This was the first course I played in Ireland - coming over from Texas. It was a fun track, in good condition and played with a member that was friendly and helpful. Course layout was straightforward - good course to start my trip and get used to local conditions. The rough was not as penal nor were there as many blind shots as I saw on other links courses in the area. The price was reasonable and very much enjoyed the round. Definitely will play again if/when I return to Dublin.
Nice course overall
I would recommend to put water refill points along the course as it gets really hot during summer.
Lovely course, fast greens, not the quickest pace of play but can be expected on public holiday
Good days golf
The greens and fairways were really good .it was like putting on the carpet at home..ball rolled true.there was only 11 holes open because of rain the day before.but really enjoyed the day and food was good too
