Disregard any negative review for this course! Played the Valley course and it was in fantastic condition. From tee to green absolutely terrific, from the lush fairways to the true rolling greens to the amazing views of the mountains. The staff was very nice and helpfull. Do not listen to the bad reviews about having to carry your clubs up steps or not to helpfull staff. Just drop your clubs at the club drop and the staff takes care of the rest taking them down to the course level and returning them to drop area following your round. Will be making this course a regular stop on my visits to the desert in the future. Had an amazing day of golf!!

The course at JW Marriott Desert Springs -Valley Course is designed for the 18 handicapper or lower to enjoy the total golf experience. The course is well-maintained and the fairway slopes and undulations make it challenging to hit from an uneven lie, so you must plan each shot accordingly. The greens are fast and challenging as well; I found some of the greens to be a bit deceptive when I planned my putt - the ball rolled the opposite direction of where I thought the ball would roll (having sized-up the line before I putted). Nonetheless, the player should take all surrounding hills and undulations into account before executing the putt. That could mean walking the line (beware of where the other golf balls are on the green!) to and from the cup to get a better estimation of the line to putt. Good luck & enjoy the ambiance of the golf course facility!!

I played this course during a national sales meeting 22 years ago. The course was in great shape and the greens were quite fast. The staff was friendly but
did not provide accurate information on tee time and
getting us from the driving range. We were gently warned on the 12th green to catch up to the foursome
in front of us--which we did in less than a hole, which meant that we should not have been warned. P.S.-
the group behind us was a twosome--one a weekend.

Found that the pace of play was very slow. Not sure if this was the skill level or that the course tends to have a short time span between tee times.

Fairways were in very good condition . Greens were excellent with multiple levels and quite fast for a resort course. The rough had some bare areas and could have been in a little better condition. Pace of play was quite slow but that may have been due to the companion course being closed for over seeding. Overall, a very good experience . Casper

This was our first game of our annual "Brothers Fore" golf excursion and had a great time. Kept the ball on the fairway and tried to keep the course record intact. Our first time in California playing golf as we normally go to Phoenix/Scottsdale area. As Canadians, we enjoy going south to get a little extra golf before our cold winter sets in!!!

It took 2.75 hours to play the FRONT NINE...painfully slow. We quit after 9 but the staff gave us full credit to play another day. They were great about the refund and very apologetic about the slow round. Some goofball stopped at the turn for lunch and the guys behind did not play thru...kind of odd. Beautiful course and grounds...we will play another time.

Course was mostly brown due to season but conditions were still fine, they should just warn you when you set up your tee time because some novice golfers are really bothered by the aesthetics. Lots of damage being repaired on the greens though, hard to believe how they could let the greens get so beat up.

We played the Palms course and we're greeted by the Starter, Doug who was terrific!
The first nine was timely and flowing the back nine was backed up.. We waited an average of 15 minutes per hole.
Other than that it was a great experience !

Played on Oct 22 2014 before they overseeded. I am a 10 and my friend is a 5 index and we shot 90 and 92 respectively from the blue tees (about 6400 yds). This course is tougher than I remembered it. Off the tee, the course is not too difficult, but the greens are well defended by bunkers, false fronts and water.
We went as a twosome and we waited on every shot, but the round ended up being about 4.5 hours.
This course is better than I remember it and I recommend it. Good luck and enjoy!

Player Tip: Take extra clubs on your approaches to most greens - most greens are elevated and have slopes in front.

The course was simply breathtaking. My husdband and I played on a very warm day, course condition was execcellent and really enjoyed. We'll play it again anytime!! Where we live we walk our home course. I sure would like to walk this course when it is not so hot because I think then you would really appreciate the scenery and course condition more.

Player Tip: If you hit a long ball don't hit driver on 17th. I hit a perfectly straight in the middle drive just to find out it's in the water.

Took 2 hours and 50 minutes to play first nine. No course rangers. After first nine starter asked if we wanted to play first nine again which we did in 1 1/2 hours.
