Sam as ever
Lately when I show up they try to rush me to the tee box. Trunk to the tee box is a no-go for me. I show up early so I can prep: chip/putt/sunblock application/tees in pocket/ball markers in pocket, on to #1 and fire away. 30 minutes.
Also, guys that couldn’t break 120 on their best day Are teeing off the blues.
Again, the course is too short for 3 sets of men’s tees, golfers will bypass the tips but not tips and blues.. White tees are a proper place for most golfers, but they won’t do it.
Also, on this particular day the grounds crew followed me around on tractors. Off the clock.
Hit Staight off the tee or die
Great course, really beautiful vegetation surrounding the Jordan River canal. Don't worry to look for your ball if you hit it in there.....this is thick stuff, 10 ft. tall. Lot's of wildlife hide there, as we as your golf ball. Crooked hitter will hate this course and will shoot above 100.
It's just okay!
I want to like this course, but it just has too many strange holes. Most days, the course is in decent shape. The only reason we keep playing it is because of the JR pass for $5 per 9 holes.

Nice course, fortunately I was hitting ball fairly straight and only got myself in trouble twice, you need to play to best landing spots or you will have problems. Everything was in great shape, tee boxes ,fairways, & greens. Definitely recommend this course.
Tight course but playable
This is a tight but beautiful course. If your a whaler off the tee then this might not be the course for you. If your a smart player then this is a nice course to test your mental abilities. Course is in great condition especially since we have had more 100 degree days this summer than I can remember (I'm 60). Fun course.
Home Course
I love this course. It's beautiful and a good challend
Good round but I recommend..
I would say the course needs to do away with 4 sets of tees. Most amateur golfers are willing to skip the black tees, but not the black and blue tees, so you get golfers that should be on the white tees playing blues and struggling hard.
It slows play. The guys I played with shot 114 and 116 from the blue tees
Also, it’s nice at River Oaks when Neil is not working the front desk
River Russian Olive
I liked everything about this course except all of the invasive Russian Olive trees that are sucking all the water up on this property.
Cut these trees down and you will have a great course.
River Russian Olive
I liked everything about the course except there were more Russian Olive trees than any other tree on the course by a ratio of 10 to 1.
The Russian Olive is a non native invasive species that sucks water and nutrients from all of our native plants and animals.
The state of Utah mandates that this tree be exterminated where ever possible.
Before the state of Utah mandates specific removal of this tree at this golf course i would recommend setting a goal of removing them hole by hole over the next 18 months.
Removing these trees will not only save a tremendous amount of water but the native plants and animals will really begin to thrive.
When this is accomplished I will start to call this course River Oaks instead of River Russian Olive.

Very excellent course and fun to play. A bit slow with some walkers ahead of us.
What are they thinking?
This course is a train wreck. No marshal and if you call the club house about slow play nothing happens. A group two holes ahead of us was four holes behind and no one in the clubhouse seemed to care. Sad. Just plain sad.
North driving range guy
Neil, the north driving range guy frowns upon TeeOff/Golfnow, he sometimes works the front desk, as he did on this day.
2nd bad experience with him after using TeeOff/Golfnow
Every other employee I’ve dealt with at River Oaks is top notch and friendly over the years.
Play there 6-10 times a year for 20 years
Old Man Course
If you like blind tee offs and barely able to use your driver on the front, then this is the course for you. Back wasn’t too bad, but the front was the least fun golf course I’ve ever played. Water everywhere and have to layup every hole. Definitely give the back a try.
