Aguila Golf Course
About
The Aquila Golf Course facility offers two golf courses; one is a championship length course while the other is a par-3, nine-hole course. The championship course provides an excellent game of golf for an affordable price. There are scenic views of mountains and downtown Phoenix as well as a challenging layout featuring several water hazards and bunkers. Although the terrain is rather hilly, it is still relatively walkable. The course has an excellent range of holes that each have a unique character, the par 5's are especially notable. Native grasses and wildflowers are also present on Aquila's Championship course, further adding to its natural beauty.

Double standards between male and female golfers
This course seems to have a double standard when it comes to women golfers. A friend and I played this course last weekend. We were paired up with 2 other, well experienced, female golfers for a 10am tee time. Before we got to the second hole the ranger came by and told us we had to "close the gap" and catch up to the foursome (all men) in front of us. Puzzled by the request, we complied but felt we were being rushed. Shortly after we tee'd off on the second hole another staff member came by and told us to "step it up". I felt insulted. All 4 of us have several years experience golfing. Never the less, we caught up to the group of men playing in front of us just to find ourselves having to wait on the group of 4 men playing in front of them. Not once did we see a ranger come by to ask either group of male golfers to "close the gap". I can't help but think if we were a group men, instead of women golfers we wouldn't have been treated as if we are inexperienced, first time golfers standing around sharing photo's of our kids and pets. Come on Aguila..."Wake Up". Women play just as well, if not, BETTER than men. Shame on you for stereotyping female golfers.
Great course conditions
The greens, fairways and bunkers were all in excellent condition. The pace of play was my only negative
City of Phoenix does an amazing job!
What a great gem! This golf course is very hard to get a tee time for a reason. Immaculate conditions, same or better as private clubs this time of year. Cannot recommend enough!
What a Gem
First time playing this mini out in Laveen. Can’t believe I haven’t been out here before. Nice track with some risk reward holes. Greens are hard to read and a little slow, but do roll true. Will be back again for sure.
Poor cart person service and ripped off!
Wanted 2 drinks and cart person suggested buy 4 drink special. I said I was ok, but cart person insisted and said they'd bring 3rd & 4th drink around next round so they wouldn't get hot. Cart never came around and bar was closed when I finished playing my round. I even tipped and never received my 3rd and 4th drinks!
Good condition, slow play
Waited at least 10 minutes on every hole. Hate they mix walkers and riders. Course was in decent shape. On course cart service was limited and slow.
Great find
This muni course is a little gem. I was pleasantly surprised and pleased .
I didn't expect to find it in such good condition. It was challenging but not over the top for an intermediate player. 12 to 15 handicap.
I highly recommend this place for its value and condition.
First time
This course is a great find. Well maintained. Challenging but forgiving.. great deal for the money. Golf now $50.
I definitely would play here again.
Staff was super friendly and helpful.
Always a good time
Had a great day playing Aguila. Used their driving and chipping area to warm up. Course was in good shape had a very nice round. Finished with a great Arizona sunset even if our 3:00 tee time didn’t allow us to finish 18
