Pains me to say it
Mount Juliet was my favourite course in the country until this week. I've played here every year for the past 18 years and every time it has been very well tended to.
In all that time I don't think I've seen the course in as poor condition. Slow greens, heavy rough, and very muddy. Weeds in the fairways. Patches of missing grass only a few feet off the fairway coupled with rough that was 6-8 inches tall in places altogether. There was placing in the fairways but I can't say it was enjoyable playing from anywhere else. There must be a drainage issue. We played on a Saturday and the greens weren't cut, nor were the fairways or rough.
The bunkers were filled with water in places. I can't say anything other than we were disappointed in what I would consider one of Irelands best parklands.
If we come back again I would only pick a summer tee time.
Cracking Day
Great course, great value and very welcoming.
Warmest Regards

Mount Juliet Review
Wonderful Course Happy Friendly staff Great Practice Facilities Very Good Food at a Fair Price a Total 5 Star Resort.
Dandelion Field
Looked forward to our round at Mount Juliet but we’re quite disappointed. Course was pretty severely covered with dandelions with the rough being somewhat overgrown. Course was almost empty at our afternoon tee time which was enjoyable allowing us to play at a great pace which was likely the highlight. The most disappointing issue was the layout. Holes 2 & 3 were both fun to play and interesting in their design around the ponds. Unfortunately only a few other holes were interesting in their features. The course is somewhat boring to play and has limited features to warrant more than a municipal course level of interest. Unfortunate.
Fairways very wet
I have played Mount Juliet maybe 10 times...always found it in excellent condition and challenging.
Played on Wednesday - we and another Gent were the only people on the course.
Can understand that a number of holes were out of play - started on 8th.
Course very soft, fairways very wet - some areas saturated.
Surprise Course was open . so it did not live up to my expectations - the fact I got a reduced Tariff via Golf Now did not compensate.. No run on ball - was not like a normal game of golf where you can enjoy good strikes - Ger
