Falcon Dunes Golf Course
About
The Falcon Dunes Golf Course is a military course situated just north of Luke Air Force Base and it is open to all military and government employees, active or retired. It is a links-style course that is highlighted by unique, native desert landscaping. The championship course provides a challenging game with several elevation changes throughout the course and abundance of natural vegetation surrounding the fairways. The large, subtly undulating greens and rolling fairways are outlined with mounded contours. Water hazards and sand bunkers also come into play on the course. Some of the holes at Falcon Dunes Golf Course also offer beautiful views of the White Tank Mountains in the distance.

Great track, bunkers need sand
Like this course. Tees, fairways and greens good shape. Only negative are the bunkers. Most need sand.
Great Military Course
Awesome place to play. If you are looking for a course with moderate elevation changes and no level lie, this is the course for you. Although there are elevation changes, the course is still an easy walk. We walk all winter. The course recently received new carts with GPS, ball/club washer, and cooler. They have new 3 wheeled push carts as well. The kitchen was remodeled and they make the best breakfast burritos in the valley. Lots of other fine fast food. Staff is friendly and helpful. My only complaint with the course is it only has 3 par 5's and 2 of them are back to back, holes 9 and 10. I think the nines should be reversed so this doesn't happen. Otherwise, a great place to play.
Well worth it!
Really nice challenging course. Only issue was no sand in the bunkers.
Beautiful Course
Beautiful course, great layout and very well kept. Well stocked Pro Shop with cafeteria restaurant and a bar. The staff is very friendly and the carts are like new. Can't wait to play another round.
Golf and semi air show
Did not play well but love the course. didn't realize how much undulation to greens. Shot my worst round ever (played at least 15 times) and can't wait to play again. Hard to believe it used to be a cotton field when I was a kid!
Good Experience
I like the layout. Lots of challenges but not too tough for someone at my level.
Gung ho
By far one of the best courses I've played in the West Valley area. I'm not military so never played it. Could not believe how well course is designed on such a small or regular looking piece of land. Hope to get on next summer since that is the only time the course is open to civilians who are not with anybody either still active or retired military. Would recommend this course to anyone.
Wow!!
We were out and it was cloudy and cool! A bit windy, but very nice for September in Phoenix! The course was very well watered! We pretty much had the course to ourselves. We will definitely be going back!! (You have to be able to golf with F-15's and F-35's flying overhead!! We loved it!)
This course is absolutely lush.
Golfing at this time of year, with many courses preparing for overseeding, you get quite the variety of conditions. However Falcon Dunes is in pristine condition. It has an interesting layout and is not so difficult that you cannot enjoy your round. I would recommend it to all levels of play as there are 4 tee boxes to choose from.
Great Course
My wife and I really enjoy playing this course. Nice layout. Great shape. Greens are in excellent condition. Greens are not fast. Women's tees are fair.
Very nice course
Well maintained, all green fairways and manicured. Well marked. Fairly slow greens. Some bunkers with wet sand. Nice clubhouse. Friendly people.
A Great Design
Gary Panks did a great job of design and flow to the course . Great variety of holes never boring .
Stay in fairway
The course was in great shape when we played. The monsoon season has been goof for the grass. The rough was thick, but heck, the object is to stay in the fairway. The greens were good, but not consistent. Some slow, the next one fast. The great amenity was to watch the jets going thru their maneuvers.
I'll be bringing my out of town guests here to play the rest of the summer, until the course is reserved for service members only again.
Great place to play
Wish they had 1more par 5 greens were great like to have 2 days of non military in winter to say thank you to the golfers that play all summer
Falcon Dunes
The course was in excellent shape .
Greens Still Recovering
Staff was exceptional from club house to cart girl. Tee boxes and fairways were in great shape. The greens are still recovering from being punched the beginning of the month. Pace of play was slow due to intramural play starting late. 4.5 hours is a long time in the summer. :-)
