Greens are okay, some need work. Tee box have patches of sand and uneven, and some fairways need work as well. Not work 45 bucks at 10am

The man who "greeted" us was not so nice. Said we did not have a reservation, then found it on his computer. Was charging us an incorrect amount and just not nice or welcoming. The starter had the same attitude.

We will not be returning.

From the moment I walked into the pro shop, I could tell this was an extremely unprofessional environment. I went to check in one hour before my teetime as I wanted to hit range balls. They would not give me a cart for my clubs as they said they had no carts. But the teatime through Teeoff.com for $24 for 18 holes with the cart. The people in front of me and behind me paid 19.46 for their golf fee. The attitude of the people at this course was something I had never experienced in 45 years of golfing. Both of our carts ran out of electricity before the end of the round.

very disappointed with the course- greans were in poor condition - fairway grass growing on the greens.

The fairway greens were non-existent. You had to find patches of fairway grass in which to drop your balls on else you would be hitting from dirt. It had rain a couple of days prior to our play so we saw a lot of mud in the fairways. Worst course I've played in so far in South Florida and I have played in over 15 courses.

We were a little late getting started club extremely busy at 2pm. Not sure why perhaps a small tournament of friends.

The staff was very curtious and got us out as soon as possible. Coarse was good a few dry spots but to be expected.

Well worth the Golf now rate we paid. Would definitely go back.

Orangebrook has always been one of my favorite places to play.....both courses.

we've been coming here from New England for 20 years....but the last couple have been only to see poor greens.

its good to read the recent reviews which have complimented the greens. have they made a turnaround? which course has the better greens?

we're coming down again in March and would love to play both courses if there has been improvement.

any feed back would be greatly appreciated.......See you in March!!

I had the opportunity to play the East Course at Orangebrook CC two times during my recent visit to South Florida. Here is what I found:

Layout: Decent routing. Nothing special but definitely playable and enjoyable. It was relatively short course, the fairways were generally wide and the greens were average in size and without a great deal of contouring. Some water hazards and moderate bunkering came into play and a few of the greens were raised, but generally speaking it was a player-friendly course. That being said it's not exactly a complete push-over, so the lower handicaps will probably enjoy this one as well. My favorite hole was #13 - a sporty par 4 requiring a long iron or fairway wood off the tee and an accurate wedge into a narrow green that is guarded in the front by a canal.

Conditioning: It definitely wasn't Augusta-like conditions, but that's to be expected when encountering a course in this price range in South Florida (with the exception, perhaps, of Inverrary). The fairways weren't too too bad, but there was a significant amount of brown patches on virtually every hole. The bunkers also could use a little TLC as some of them were left unkepmt and unraked. But the greens were a pleasant surprise. Although they weren't lightning fast like some of the other courses in the area, they certainly ran at a decent speed and they putted true. For me, as long as the greens are good, I am happy, and I had no qualms with the quality of the greens here.

Staff: The pro shop staff was helpful, curteous and obliging. The beverage cart girl was friendly and made an appearance several times throughout the round. Top notch service.

Pace of Play: I teed off one day with my father early in the morning and we enjoyed a nice comfortable pace. I believe we finished in slightly under 4 hours, which was great. My next time out I teed off at approximately 2 pm and didn't make the turn until 5 pm so needless to say we didn't get a full 18 in. I think it really just depends on the time of the day and what day of the week it is. But, I would recommend spending the few extra $$$ and teeing off a little earlier in order to guarantee a complete round.

Value: This course is well known for being one of the cheaper options in South Florida. I played once for $32 with a cart on GolfNow and the other time I walked up and paid $25 for twilight. My father paid $25 for rental clubs and the set wasn't too bad. Not the newest Titleists or anything, but not absolute trash either (I believe they were Wilson Staff). It is definitely worth the price I paid to golf here but I wouldn't want to fork out too much more than that to play a course of this level.

Overall, I enjoyed my rounds at the East at Orangebrook. If you are heading down for a winter vacation and find yourself in the Hollywood area and looking for a fun, casual, enjoyable experience then this is a good option. I will definitely give the West course a try next time - I hear that one's a little tougher.

I'm have a 10 handicape and I found the course simple and with very little challange. The faiways grasse is to short and spotty. Not very nice to look at and lots of mud on the ball after each shot. Over priced by $15. The greens are nice but slow.
