East at Orangebrook Country Club
About
There are two 18-hole golf courses available at Orangebrook Country Club in Hollywood, the East and the West. Built in the 1930s, the East Course is the club's original layout. While its design may be more traditional, it is just as much of a challenge as the newer West Course. The East has fewer water hazards but there are large bunkers strategically placed throughout. There are some tricky holes included in the design but there are also many player-friendly features as well including wide-open fairways and generous landing areas. Players can get their practice in on the large, lighted driving range that has both distance markers and a practice bunker. Orangebrook C.C. offers not one but two player-friendly but challenging rounds, making it popular amongst locals for being one of the area's best values.

Better landscaping
The course is a nice place to play. The ground crew needs to take better care of cutting the course. Around the greens and fairways you will find uneven cut grass which makes it difficult to hit.
Highly reccomend
I was booked on the East Course but was closed due to the storm the days before so everyone was put on the West course so there was a bit of a queue but that's my only negative and only caused by the freak weather over the weekend.
I was more than happy that I paired up with another single and 2 ball especially as one of them knew the course :-) as sped the pace of play up and all were of a similar standard so was perfect.
The course was in great condition except a couple of greens but nothing to serious and very well layed out with water and bunkers placed to make you think about your shots instead of just whacking it towards a green. There was a 2 ball behind who were very patient and didn't try to rush us and the staff from the pro shop, bar and to sign me in to join the queue with my buggy were all very friendly and helpful.
Really wish I could play this course again before heading back to England but unfortunately not enough days left before heading home.
Nice staff & very good value for money.
Course could be in a little better shape but nice staff, value for money, forgiving fairways, n nice layout make up for it.
Poor maintenance
The course layout is appealing and has wonderful potential. However, poor maintenance is all over; the greens are spotty, lumpy and bare in places, the tee boxes are sandy and uneven, and the fairways are a mixture of rough grasses and open dirt areas. The golf now booking say it is booked but there must be numerous cancellations as there was many openings and single golfers - a clear mismanagement problem. Unfortunately conditions have not really changed over past few years. A disgrace to Hollywood.

No so good!
Last year I would have rated this a 4 star but this year I can't believe that in late February the greens are so bad. Some places have sand on the green, and I cannot believe they have the greens in so bad of shape this late in the season. I don't recommend it to anyone until they put their act together. Perhaps then I will up my ratings.
