Avon Fields Golf Course
About
Avon Fields Golf Course is one of the older golf courses in Cincinnati, where it sits on picturesque land that rolls along fairways lined with trees - and it's easily accessible to downtown. The golf course provides tests and good times for golfers at all levels, with elevated and diminutive greens for those who like to play short golf, as well as those who need more practice at it (for those who need more practice in general, the Jimmy Woods Learning Center is onsite).
Avon Fields Golf Course provides 18 holes of par-67 golf over 5,081 yards. Tee off on a par 4 that plays to 369 yards. The course is short compared with megacourses being built elsewhere nowadays: About a third of the holes come in at under 200 yards, even from the Blue tees, while only the fourth hole, the lone par-5 hole, stretches to over 400 yards from the Blue tees.
As the Avon Fields Golf Course is a municipal golf course, expect affordable green fees, and those who can swing a round of golf during the workweek can expect them to be even lower.

Good tee time
Got there early staff was friendly, course was in pretty good shape. I enjoyed the round and the pace of play was good.
Great value for a round, had plenty of fun!
This is an old public course that is maintained well- not fancy at all but nice. There are some very nicely laid out holes, and good views. It is very affordable. We had some slow play along the way, but it worked out fine.
Worst golf course ever!!!!!
This is easily the worst experience I ever had golfing. I have been golfing for over 20 years. At least 3 members of the staff were extremely rude to us and ruined the whole experience. The superintendent even refused to say hello to our group, which was really weird, since we said hello to him and he just sat there staring at us awkwardly. The man who we called the "enforcer" stole our beers, as well as other golfers in front and behind us (also a first). Also, they told us that we were going slow but we actually were asked to play through the group in front us right before being stopped by the "enforcer." Go literally anywhere else if you could.
Avoid at all costs

Great day on the links!
This was our first time at Avon Fields. The elevation changes and views were really nice. We had a great time. The cost is unbelievably, incredibly cheap.
The round was great, people were friendly. The fairways were nice, not perfect, but a very nice public course and a great time.
Worst course in cincinnati
Tee times are inevitably overbooked when you play here. Staff literally drives around the course, through fairways, over players balls, to ride up to groups and check their carts for outside alcohol mid round. The kids that work there are nice, but the management and starters never fail to make playing here a miserable experience. Played there today, spent 132 dollars on tee times, atleast 40 at the cafe for beers and food, and I even bought 99 dollar shoes (which I now regret). 4 of our holes were ruined by staff driving around harassing players about outside alcohol. We bought ours there and were still harassed on multiple holes with staff checking our carts.
Half the number of tee box markers of any course, expensive for overall value, but it is the manager Ron and the starters that have caused me to never play here again
Great Course in Central Cincinnati
This course offers a great opportunity to practice your midrange game as nearly each hole is a par-4. The pace of play went fairly well as it seemed to be fairly popular on a Thursday afternoon while we played. Lots of holes that shift between fun short segments and holes that help practice your skills.
Good course-aerated greens
Very fun course, good value, great layout....greens were aerated would love to see them in the summer
Poor course management
I booked an 18 hole pre paid hot deal for 3:00. Upon arriving to the course I was told I would “maybe” be able to get 9 in because they had leagues starting at 3:30. I asked for a rain check and the guy at the desk went to get his manager. The manager was extremely rude and not at all accommodating. I can see why this course has become what it has. That will be my last visit to Avon fields.
Save yourself the stress
Have played Avon since I was a child. Sad to see how it's ran today. Groups going off whatever 9 they want. No real ranger or oversight. Tell people to walk the front only to get stuck behind multiple groups riding off the back. If you like stress free golf in which someone has control over the course and keeps the flow going DO NOT PLAY here. Some people even play 5'somes ans no one says a thing. I grew up playing this course but I have to say today will be the last time. Love the course always in great shape. However so are plenty of other courses where this nonsense doesnt happen. Sorry Avon you lost a lifelong customer today.
Poor Staff. Brutal conditions
Brutal course conditions. Tee box’s are virtually nonexistent. The fairways were in terrible condition. A little soft on top than hard as a rock.... never a true iron shot. Staff was very rude.
Bad news
I scheduled a tee time at this course for Sunday morning at 7 a.m. my partner was rushed to the hospital with a heart attack I called the course to let them know we couldn't make the tee time they charged me for it anyway. After such a devastating loss for them to do that was just so wrong GolfNow and Avon Fields both suck
On time
The club house didn’t open til after 7 tee time was 7 do better boys. Course was in great shape play here often
Poorly managed course
Greens covered in goose crap. Halfway through my early morning game grounds people finally show up and do a poor job and start turning on sprinklers and blowing off goose crap while people are playing mid fairways. Shortest course I have ever played. Not worth the $15 spent. Won’t be back.
