Solitude Links Golf Course & Banquet Center

About
Solitude Links Golf Course & Banquet Center in Kimball is one of southeastern Michigan’s premier courses. Golfers from the Detroit metropolitan area and Port Huron and even as far as London in Ontario, Canada flock to the golf course. The layout is spread across gently rolling terrain with both woodlands and wetlands, providing a diverse mix of holes. The greens are large and fast with some mild undulation, some are even ridged or double-tiered, but good shots will be rewarded with level putting surfaces. The tricky opening hole is unique in that there are two greens, which makes it so that it can be played as a par 4 or a more daunting par 5 that plays over water. The challenging island green makes Solitude Links' par-4 eighth another memorable hole. Though you may get a break from the water on the back nine, at least on four holes, sand then becomes a more prominent hazard.

Good day for golf
Finally a nice weather day to play golf. Course was in good shape except for the bunkers they have not been worked on at all. Greens were running a little slow. No ranger or starter on the course . To much slow play especially when you get to 10. To many people run in the club house to get stuff. Once you go in the club house, you lose your spot on the tee box.
Great course
An all around great course. Lots of challenging holes. Some of the toughest par 3’s in Michigan.. they have harfest opening that i have ever played in the world!!! After a tough tee shot, there’s only 1 way to to get to the green, between 180-225 over the water. You can layup down the fairway, with a perfect layup, you still have around 180 in. I always try to knock it on in 2, unless im in one of the 2 brutal bunkers. I would be lying 4 istead if on the otherside of the lake!!!!
Fall golf at it’s finest.
Course was in great shape for November. Had the course to our selves.
Disappointed golfers
We love the course, but not happy that they were doing airraiting of the greens and only had 9 holes of airrated green's open...
Be nice if we could get coupons to play it over again in 2025....

Course was in great shape
I’ve played over 50 rounds this year and this course was in the best shape out of any. Greens, tees and fairways were immaculate. Bunkers were rough in spots but it’s October. Cart paths could use some LLC but it wasn’t a big deal. Overall this is a top 5 public course to me in the metro Detroitish area. I’ll be back.
Refund
Great course but make sure you don’t cancel, I called twice to “switch” my tee time to 2 days later and they denied me and charged full price. They have a 48 cancellation policy, make sure you know that when booking!!! Called twice, very rigid and not accommodating of you miss your tee time.
My New Favorite Course
I’ve been trying to play here at least once a week. I love this course for a few reasons, the views, the wide variety of holes and the way you have to be creative to shoot well here. The first three holes really make you think and adjust to what club is going to work for you. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. You have to find certain times where the pace of play works, it can become slow at times,. All in all for a course less than 30 minutes away from my house, it is my new favorite!!
Love the course alittle maintenance needed
Course is in great shape . Egyptian wheat is out of control . There are 3-4 holes you can't see the pin or the fairway . Egyptian wheat needs to be addressed . Hole 11 if you get witching 15 yds of marsh you can't see pin or fairway . Hole 12 you cannot see any fairway . Some trimming has been done but needs to be below 10 feet . Hole 13 you can't see anything around at or near lake . Same with 16 . Very out of control . Otherwise great conditions . Egyptian wheat will take over and it is .
Perfect
Our wedding party play this course before the wedding rehearsal and had a great time!!!! If you are planning a wedding at this venue we would highly recommend getting in a round in to celebrate!! Course is amazing and staff made sure our outing was perfect!
Love this course
Had one of my best rounds at this course. Everyone said it would be too hard for me. Nope. I love it. Challenging and beautiful. I especially love that you don't see everyone else on the course unless they're right behind you or right in front of you. Feels private and quiet.
Great Course, Slowest Turn in History
Absolutely loved this course. A good amount of water but overall conditions were great and the pace of play was just right. Highly recommend playing this one.
Medoking, thank you so much for your awesome review and comments. We do cut the Phragmites down twice a year and you are correct, they are very invasive and even the DNR can't stand them. They are taking over the entire SE Michigan. I notified our maintenance team it's time to address again.
