Legends Golf & Country Club
About
Legends Golf & Country Club offers an 18-hole championship course that has become one of the most popular golf courses in central Florida. The course features dramatic elevation changes, which allow golfers to take in breathtaking views of the surrounding hills and citrus groves. Legends Golf & Country Club is known for its par-3 holes, but one of the most memorable holes is the par-4 fifth hole. The hole is a downhill dogleg left with an elevated tee that provides a spectacular view. Legends Golf & Country Club has a classic, moderately difficult layout that is difficult if approached too casually but also quite playable, even from the championship tees.

Little Grass
Fairway's and tee boxes were poor. Main dirt spots. Had to play preferred lies often to find grass. The putting green was impressively quick, the greens were healthy, but slow. Very disappointed to not have the grass range open. Unsure why not. The mats were poor quality. Course has a lot of potential with money and TLC. Staff was friendly.
Potential to be so much better
Potential for a 4 star course.............. but...........
The layout is really interesting, plenty of elevation changes and some VERY tricky par 3's make for a good test of golf, so why the but ?
Some staff are surly to the point of being rude, certainly not individuals who should be in any customer facing role. ( the others were however excellent). The condition of the tee boxes was shockingly poor, having been lucky enough to play many many courses all over the world, these were without any doubt the worst I have ever had to play off. A common thread is the condition of the fairways, they are pretty awful. ( we decided to play "preferred lies", which did make life a bit better.) Greens were well paced if not a little firm.
Index 1 6th is a great hole, as is the par 3 13th which is 180+yards, all carry to hit the green.
In it's current state it is certainly not a $90 course
Good value
The 1st two fairways are in poor shape but it gets better after, greens are in nice shape and difficult to read, approach shots will hold, course layout offers challenging holes with variety. Tee boxes are beat up but doesn’t affect playability.
One of the better values in Orlando area!
What the heck has happened to this course?
I gotta tell you I’m really disappointed in where this course is right now. This has been my favorite course in all of the Orlando area since it reopened and I’m sure if you went back far enough in these reviews you could find me going on and on about how great this place is (or was). The tee boxes and fairways are in dire straits. I’ve always been one to pay the price for something good but my goodness the greens can’t save the overall value for me. As it stands $45 is probably the most I’d pay to play in its current condition. I have faith it will be back to how it ls been the last 2 years but I know the hard months on course maintenance are lurking as the summer approaches.
Fun Course....
The course is certainly not in top notch condition, but overall was very playable. There are some bare and thin spots throughout most of the fairways. The first hole fairway is probably the thinnest of the holes. If you land in a bare spot, just roll it to some grass.
The greens were rolling pretty fast. A couple of the greens had been sanded to help repair them, but those rolled OK.
The tee boxes were hit and miss, some were bare and a bit sandy, but others were in good condition.
Not sure $70 was worth it and a bit on the high side for the conditions, but similar to other courses in the area.
Greens.
Fastest hardest greens to read. Top dressed and still very fast.
First 3/4 holes are terrible
The first 3 or 4 holes are in awful condition. Outside of the greens. My group and I almost turned around to go get our money back. The tee boxes were some of the muddiest messes I’ve ever seen. I’ve played some bad courses before and would put the that run of 4 holes was worse than any other course I’ve played and this was $95 for the round.
Legends
The greens were in great shape, but there basically was very little grass in the fairways. If there is no grass in the spring I would be very concerned about the course conditions in the summer. It wasn’t worth the money we paid for the round.
Had fun for a first timer.
The course overall was a fun 18 hole for a beginner. Went with a group of 4. Golf carts were kept up nice. Rental clubs were in good shape. The GPS on the carts were spot on. Only issue was with the guy at the start. Rushed our group ahead of time and could not practice putting. The four of us though went through a bucket of balls at the range and it helped us immensely. Would recommend this course. Lots of variety through the holes.
Beautiful layout, cart path/ ruff only
A bit disappointed in this one. It was our first time. We got a good deal so we tried it. Expected more. The greens are excellent. The fairways look pretty good, but we couldn’t drive on them, very annoying. The tea boxes definitely need a lot of work. This course could be so much better. It’s probably the most scenic one we’ve played. They payed attention to detail but now the tea boxes need attention. Really didn’t make me feel like I’d want to play here again anytime soon unless the price was right.
Carts locked up too much
Told us seeding had been done and we could not drive on the course. Hard to tell where the rough started and fairway ended so for caught quite a bit with carts locking up. Slowed play down considerably.
Course
The course staff was very friendly and the greens were super pure with no crab grass or weeds on them. The reason I didn’t give five stars is because the fairways and tee boxes need some work. The starter let us know that they were working on the fairways and tee boxes. When they get the fairways looking good and tee boxes good this will be a solid course.
Slow play...ineffective Ranger
A Value course if you have 5 hours to play...and they had a Ranger that just didn't do his job...let a threesome hold up the hole course, what are you paying him for?.....other than that, nice greens .fairways and tee boxes new some growing but you can move it to a spot...nice elevation changes but definitely not playing them down.
Overall quality down, overall price up
In fairness to this course, my title appropriately fits a half-dozen courses in this area. Staff good. Layout great. As so many say, the fairways are so thin it’s hard to even find a spot to hit a ball off a poor lie. Was okay last year, 1/2 as thick this season. The greens were good. I’d take those conditions all day. In the end, since a good game requires grass in more than just putting, it’s just not a good choice at $70+ dollars. A waste of money, really. (Ahhh, the state of golf in the Orlando area. Don’t settle for a good profit if all are gonna gouge, we should as well.:)
