Clearwater Country Club
About
Located just minutes from the beach, the conveniently situated Clearwater Country Club sprawls across a coastal landscape of Spanish moss-draped trees and towering, mature oaks. Stevenson Creek meanders through the golf course, coming into play on six holes. Built in 1920, the layout has a traditional design that is challenging but fair. The course is tight but it plays long, especially on the par 5s. The rolling fairways are well manicured and the greens play at medium speed and are consistently well maintained. Clearwater C.C. actually has a reputation amongst locals for its superb conditions. It is also popular with visitors, snowbirds specifically, since the club offers the area's only seasonal and short-season membership with exclusive privileges. It is also one of the few clubs in the area that allows walking.

The greens were terrible
The workers have no humility. The entire experience was sub par no pun intended
Very slow pace of play and poor green conditions
Round took over 5 hours due in big part to five and six golfers being allowed to play in several tee time groupings. Greens not well maintained.
Nice course, friendly staff
Clearwater course is a very nice course, with a good layout and nice mix of hole layouts and lengths.
Staff and other golfers aways seem friendly, creating a nice atmosphere.
Awful staff
Had a tee time at 250pm, arrived about 20 mins early. Paid and brought my receipt to the starter( as the guy in the Pro Shop told us to do) the starter tells at us in front of a bunch of other golfers waiting. He says “ we don’t have any carts so get in line!” 30 mins after our tee time he yells our groups name, Finally gives us carts and walks away! Place was packed, very poorly ran!
Small, elevated, cantered, fast greens
Short course with appealing layout and challenging approach to get close to the hole.
Bring your chipping and putting A game.
VALUE for the course
Clwtr CC is priced way, way above where it should be. Played there today. The paspalum greens are bumpy like they were never aerified. The bunkers are nice. The fairways are sparse, the rough is very rough, like dirt. They are apparently not investing in maintaining the course, but packing it with snow birds to squeeze every dime they can. Generally, I give this course a C. Slightly worse than Crescent Oaks because the layout is so dumb (railroad tracks run right thru the middle, and the course borders VERY busy streets). When we left, the parking lot was packed, people lined up on the tee waiting for carts. They're making their money, but I won't be going back until the price is more reasonable..... like about $35.
Way over priced for the condition
Title says it all.
Bad greens. Very little sand in bunkers.
Pass
Not worth it
The course was in poor shape. The tee boxes had sporadic grass, the fairways were just OK, and the greens had recently been aerated and were bumpy. It would have been nice to know about the greens before I played and the fee should have been discounted. The greens fee was steep for the condition of the course and there are better options at the almost $80 price point. The staff was very friendly but I won’t play there again

Overall standard course.
Greens were a challenge but the fairways need a lot of work. Dry spots everywhere.
Dave
Course was too busy, had to wait for one hour from my tee time. Grad I saw John Daly teeing off at 10th hole.
Clear Water c c Good Times
We had a 12:45 Tee time but didn't get out till 1:45. We herd on Tues and Friday they have a large group of golfers playing a skins game supposedly led by John Daily. One person in our group left but we stayed and waited till 1:45 so the course was great and the starter Bob went crazy waiting for carts and getting everyone out. Great job Bob, ps was there on a Friday, over all great course
