Whispering Oak at Verandah

This was the nicest course that I played during me stay in Ft Myers. I had to play alone on this day, but that gave me a chance to take my time and work on some things. I really liked the condition of the greens. The staff was very nice and made me feel welcome. I would play this course again if I stay in this area again.

Everything from booking, sign-up at the proshop, starter friendless and informational, pairing up with another couple and especially the golf course layout and course conditions were excellent. We intend to return!

Wow, what a beautiful course! Well maintain and fair. Plenty of room on the landing areas and tough greens. Got a great deal on golf now for $70. Spend the $5 on the book, if on the wrong side of the green you will 3/4 putt. Strongly recommend for price I got.

I recently read an article in which Jack Nicklaus described his design philosophy. He stated he liked to give the player room to drive from the tee and make the hole more challenging as you get closer to the green. This course fit that description. It is a great layout and was in great condition considering the time of year.

Whispering Oaks is an enjoyable course despite the challenging greens which were fast and undulating.

Whispering oaks. Good course. Give you some chances to make a good score. Fun to play. The nearby street noise is sometimes a little disturbing. The second nine very relaxing. Very friendly reception. No people - easy play.

Most residential/private courses are a bit bland. This course was surprisingly fun and memorable. Great variety, great conditioning and great greens. Will definitely play again.

Great attention to detail in all aspects of this course. Multiple tee box choices (6). Well trapped, good fairways, firm greens that receive the shot well. Greens very fast at stimp of 11 on day we played.

Wide and easy - we expected something more from a Nicklaus course.

played for the first time here, was told by starter the green were rolling at 11 , right, boy was he right. course was in excellent condition, greens were lightening a very fun nicklaus track. anyone playing here for the first will be very wowed.

If this course was in the 30-40 dollar range then I would be fine with it but being that i paid 58 dollars (after 2pm mind you) I expected more. The layout wasn't bad and had some nice holes, the fairways seemed a bit beat up/over played perhaps, the greens were a bright spot as they were fast and rolled very true with plenty of undulation. Didnt like how the pins were not color coded and how there was no map of a hole and a green chart telling you where the pin is. Overall a good course but not a great course especially for the money.

Windy day so extra clubbing needed front 9.Tough pins but fair .had a great time .Hope to go back

Great course, excellent greens. Fairways top. Friendly reception.

My friend and I played a round on a Sunday afternoon and had a wonderful experience. We waited quite a bit on the back nine but finished the round in about 4:15--not bad for a beautiful Sunday afternoon.

Even though we were not members, the course personnel were courteous and accommodating. The landing areas were generous and the greens were in great shape, rolling true all day.

We played the Whispering Oaks track and can't wait to go back and play the Old Orange course next time. It comes highly recommended on our experience!

The course is in excellent condition and not crowded. Weather was great. I would certainly play this course again.

I've played Verandah several times and it's always a great experience. This particular time I had a 2:51pm tee time with my daughter on Whispering
Oak. The weather was a slight sprinkle (as it had been raining off and on all day), but the course conditions were still quite good. The best part was we didn't see another sole on the course the entire round. And the staff was very friendly as they always are here.

This course is very fair to all levels of play. Greens are a bit tougher but roll true. Bring your credit card and tuck your shirt in. No cash purchases and strict attire code. I have played 4 times on both courses and as long as price is reasonable I will be back

Course in a very , very good condition

Was looking for a decent course in the Fort Myers area and found it. Good variety of holes and distances made me use every club in the bag. Great value in the summer. Would go back again.
