Nice Greg Norman Course

Played as a twosome, course was wide open, not many players. Asked and said they have 60 golfers on a Monday and it was their busiest day. it's a private club for communities in the area. Course was impeccable, straight forward and a decent layout. I can't say it was worth the high end cost to play. It was comparable to other public courses in the $100 range. I'd look for other options in the area just from a cost perspective, not to take away from the general positive review and round once on the course.

Amazing Property

I am not sure how someone would not enjoy this track. Both 9's offer different feels to it. The course is always in perfect shape in comparison to other properties in the area. One awesome feature was there was not too many people out on the course which made for a really casual setting for the group. The staff treated us fantastic. If you don't play here you're making a huge mistake!

Fun play, but mostly lacked bite

I had the opportunity to play here as part of a vacation rental and was looking forward to it because I had heard so much about it for several years. The first thing I noticed is that what I had heard was true - there were very few players on the course. This track doesn't get a lot of traffic. I liked the minimalist approach Greg Norman used. I suspect this is mainly because it is an Audubon International sanctuary. I thought the strength of the course lies in the holes around Lake Powell. Interestingly, in a move that goes against the thought process of most Florida residential courses, Norman was given some prime waterfront to work with. Usually this makes for prized real estate, but five fairways border the lake and two holes play to the lake. The 13th, 14th and 15th holes were my favorite stretch. The par-5 sixth hole is one of the toughest holes I've ever played. The tee shot is hard enough, but the second shot - a forced carry over a wetland - really makes judging how far to hit it problematic, as the fairway runs horizontally and is littered with bunkers. The problem for me with Shark's Tooth is that so many of the holes seemed similar. Most of the par 4s blended together in my mind and the par 3s were rather unremarkable. It was an enjoyable round, but I do believe I prefer Camp Creek in the upscale category along 30A.

Ihamilton5690, thank you for reading my review. I appreciate the feedback, and love hearing different opinions, but I'm not sure what you felt was "absurd" about my review. I was very complimentary of the property, the conditioning of the course and several of the holes. I just simply preferred its sister course from a memorability standpoint. We all like different courses for different reasons.

This is absurd. You must be playing Augusta everyday.
