Course Condition
As a former superintendent;
I have played this course about 15- times and every time the conditions have been excellent. The greens are true, the tees are properly maintained, and the fairways are above average. This is a direct comparison to the other courses in the area.
Overall the course is in good health!
Stay Away!!
We vacation for a couple of weeks in this area every spring and play a variety of courses each year. Played this course years ago and recall it being a tough track with narrow water lined fairway’s and small greens. A real challenge!. However the course has been severely neglected ….everything about the place is tired from the run down club house, unkept fairways and rough, to the dead bare brown greens, to an actual dead rotting raccoon not ten feet off the back of a green. We should have realized the locals stay away as there were only two other cars in the parking lot when we arrived for our 12:40 time. We debated turning around after the first hole and heading to one of the other area courses but thought maybe better things lay ahead; NOPE!! Go to Muni North or Muni New Smyrna as they are both in this price range and in much better shape. If you want to spend a few extra bucks Venetian bay is a step up from all of these but still a good deal overall.
Best course around…
I play a couple times a week at most courses within my 50 mile radius and find that Cypress Head is in the top 5. From tee box to green, you’ll find a well kept course with constant maintenance being done on and outside the playing areas. Greens are in great shape as well as all the bunkers. Staff is very accommodating, nothing not to like here. Play it…you’ll enjoy it.
Of all
Great place
Workers are very professional and courteous.
One of, if not the best, public course in the area in my opinion. Extremely friendly staff
Play here
Great course conditions. Tricky greens and pin placements. Great practice facility and staff. The only negative was that somehow, the group ahead turned into a fivesome. Slowed down play.
Best course and conditions
Friendly staff.
Very good course conditions.
Extremely fast greens and all are in great shape.
Worth the money
Weekend Golfer
This was my first time playing Cypress Head and it was in very good condition. The course is straight forward but don't let the fool you as you need to place some of your shots in order to avoid trouble/hazards. The greens were fast and started to slow down as the day warmed up but still rolled fast. I would recommend this course to all.
Overall a nice course
We were greeted by a very nice gentleman at the bag drop . He was very helpful and friendly . The course was in pretty good condition. Looked like the greens were rolled and was true all day . Tee boxes , fairways were nice . The rough was short but was fine . The some sand traps could use extra sand as our playing partner indicated, but the one I was in was fine . It’s a tough course with lots of water and a couple carries to the green .. really enjoyed the round. We would definitely come back .
They treat you like family
Arriving at cypress head you will be greeted by upbeat friendly staff members that help you settle in and get going, course is in absolute beautiful shape, no reason why you shouldn’t have already booked a tee time be the end of reading this.
fun in the sun
Course was in great condition and pace of play was very good. Course is short and narrow and a but sneaky, watch the left side.
