Eagle Dunes Golf Club

About
Eagle Dunes Golf Club in Sorrento sprawls across rolling elevation changes that aren't typically found on central Florida courses. The course also claims to have the area's truest putting surfaces. The layout stretches to just over 7,024 yards from the back tees. Long hitters will be pleased about the opportunity to grip it and rip it but ball placement is an important factor. The golf course is punishing even if you're only slightly errant. The vast sand traps seem like you're playing across a desert and the occasional water hazard comes into play as well. The wide, player-friendly fairways help to balance the challenges of the golf course. Since opening in 2003, Eagle Dunes Golf Club has garnered a strong following amongst locals and has earned the distinction of being one of Gold Digest's "Best Places to Play."

Not perfect but pretty good
A couple of the greens were a little rough, but overall, the course was in good shape. Super friendly staff too. Definitely will be back!
Great course for the money.
Friendly staff. The course plays great. The greens are in good shape for the most part.
Fair for the price
The course is challenging to play but not difficult but the greens were not very good. The fairways were fine considering there hasn't been rain in a while.
Greens are shot. Worth a bucket of balls. That's it. They got alot of work to do. Wait a while.
another poor local course
Last time I played here was probably 10 years ago when it was a nice place to visit. Not the story now though. Can't really add any more than what other posts say about the conditions. Generally poor but as I only paid $35 you get what you pay for.
Not what it used to be
I played Eagle dunes The day it opened and have played it over 1000 times. Unfortunately, the conditions have gone downhill and now that the greens are in very poor condition. I will no longer play the course or recommend it to anyone.
Several greens are in bad shape.
Friendly staff, nice course, but several of the greens are in bad condition. I would recommend the course with reservations concerning the greens.
Overpriced for conditions
Tee boxes: dirt& weeds
Fairways: dead and/ or dying, weedy
Greens: worst greens I’ve ever played on. Used to be the courses best part.
Until they put some money into the course,I won’t be back.
Greens need care
Some of the greens need work, but the course is in fairly good condition for the end of winter in Florida. Lots of waste areas and deep bunkers can be challenging.
Rough
Roughest shape the Dunes has been in in a while. Greens were like playing plinks. Tee boxes were full of weeds. Fairways were what they normally are.
Buyer Beware
Arrived at course to find out they sanded the greens early in morning. There was no notification of this either on GolfNow or Eagle Dune website. Worse, they were charging full price. Should have made golfers aware of conditions at time of booking and offered discounted rate. Course is OK, still so rutted throughout course, is not what it was a decade ago. Needs infusion of cash to get back to 4 star rating, otherwise is a 3 star when greens
are not sanded.
The course seems to be coming back.
The fairways are starting to look good. The greens had sand on them, but still rolled OK if we can get some rain I bet you this course will start to look really good.
The course’s comments are ridiculous. They have been saying the same thing for years. They know where improvements are needed. The whole course needs to be plowed under. Yet they are doing nothing to improve it. They don’t even have a staff of greenskeepers. They rent a small staff to come out every two or three weeks and spend the day making small cosmetic changes. They raise the green fees regularly and all the revenue goes directly to the absentee owner. Nothing is put back into the course period.. it’s been that way for years and is not going to change.
