TERRIBLE regardless of drought
Paid the $5 via GolfNow for myself, wife and young son for 9 holes walking... please know, I've walked this course twice before myself (January and February 2015), conditons back then were "ok." OMG terrible course conditions! Fairways and rough are full of dandelions, overgrown and filled w/weeds. The greens are dead brown and the soil completely cracked throughout. Think "Tin Cup" but 10 times worse. Any 1st shot or chip landing on the (brown) green just overruns... no grass to stop/slow your ball. Bunkers have weeds/dandelions. Tee boxes completely chewed up. Very sad. Do not waste your $5 (plus service fees) at Grayson Woods. Even the 18 hole putting course needs the cups and flags repaired... many cups raised above putting surface (defeats the purpose of putting to the hole).
poor conditions
Course was horrible. Greens were brown and lots of exposed dirt. Traps were loaded with weeds.Tee areas were in horrible shape. Course was unnkept and loaded with weeds. Would not recommend this course to anybody.
The Dead Zone
This was a very scenic little par 3 course you would take a beginner to, especially a date. Now, the grass on all the greens is dead, no one seems to be doing any upkeep at all, and it is impossible to play anything that resembles golf here. Too bad!
Course is shutting down
The course shut off it's irrigation system months ago so the greens are now completely brown and hard as cement, and the owners have stopped grooming the course at all. I was informed when I arrived that the course will be closing completely in a couple weeks. I should have known something was up when I saw the $5 green fee offer.
Great deal
The greens could be a lot better but this is a great value for what you get. Helps your short game get better.
Good Variety
Considering that all the holes are par 3s there's a good variety of holes. It would be nicer if the greens and the areas around the green were in better shape, but it does the job as a par 3 practice round.
