The Golf Club at Hilton Head Lakes

About
The Golf Club at Hilton Head Lakes is a Tom Fazio design that is challenging, but with five sets of tees it is versatile enough for players of all skill levels. Fazio deftly utilized the native wetlands and numerous lakes that are interspersed across the landscape, incorporating them along the expansive fairways and angled greens. The tricky greens have been carefully molded and contoured to offer a variety of pin placements. In addition to the water hazards, there are also numerous strategically placed bunkers lurking throughout. The golf course will test your shot-making skills as well as your creativity. To complement the golf course, Hilton Head Lakes offers an equally impressive 36-acre, double-ended practice facility with target greens, bunkers, multiple practice greens, and even a par-3 short course.

Needs a little love
I've played this course several times before. It's usually in pretty good shape. But tee boxes and fairways need a little love. I'm not sure if it's due to the snow the area got this winter, but for early May, some fairways are missing, like no grass growth. The greens were in decent shape. Hope the grass comes back soon.
Crescent point golf course
Great manage the green condition.
Very excited courses but it is little bit difficult.
I will recommend this course to my friends.
Great course
Everything was great from the staff at check to the condition of the course 5 Stars 🌟
Very nice course and staff
Great staff, pace of play excellent under 4 hrs , nice club house , fantastic price , FYI just inform public about punched greens ,Will play here again.
Golfers
This course is need to inform golfers that greens have maintenance completed on them when booking tee times and let Golf now know this too !
Not a good visit this time.
It could have a been a much better experience if when i got there the guy behind the counter did not tell me that they are airing out the greens and they did not put that on Golf Now website. I think information as such should be listed on their website to make sure people know what they are walking into, especially after driving 45 minutes to get there. Unfortunately, we are living in a world where honesty and integrity have been replaced by greed. Not only the greens are sandy, but they had just watered them which made it as if you were putting on straight mud.
Overall, i forced myself to have a good time playing this course for the first time. I decided to play from the professional Tees, and it made it more challenging and fun which i liked. There are a few challenging holes which required some draw shots onto the fairways.
Law
No one working in pro shop or restaurant when we arrived, had to wait, but all worked out. Played in 3 1/2 hours, so pace was awesome
Late March golf
Disappointed would be the best way to start. I realize the round we played was a late March/early spring but compared to other courses we played in the last 2weeks this was not in good shape. The greens where not at all consistent being rough and the course in general need a lot of tender love and care
Unique and challenging layout
Very fun course, very tough and beautiful scenery. The conditions are not in perfect shape right now, but it’s understandable. It’s that time of the year for all courses in the area. A month or two of nice weather and good maintenance, I think this course could be the hidden gem of Hilton Head.
Great course. Forgiving but tragically placed traps.
Overall the course was in great shape. Nice layout. Forgiving tee shots. Some cart paths had some damaged concrete. Traps around most greens and on sides of fairways for the longer hitters.
Great Drivers Course, Ok Conditions
Layout is always fun to play, really great practice course as most holes are wide open. Great natural scenery especially on the back nine. Course conditions were playable but very inconsistent. Poa has definitely made its home here especially on the greens. Beware of bumpy putts and inconsistent speeds. Should be better by early summer.
Great condition overall & the greens were fast & true
I’ve played this course numerous times & always have a great experience. Will be playing again soon I hope !!
