Part of a large tree farm whose crop is irrigated by two lakes, Twin Lakes is one of the best values in the state. An outstanding, challenging track, despite the fact that it was designed by the landowner, the course is not crowded and the golf is spectacular. You’ll notice how around half the holes play through the East Texas pines, while the other half play over and around the lakes. The course is long at 7,200 yards from the tips, and over 6,600 from the men’s tees. Even the short holes are difficult, with strategically placed bunkers and difficult pin placements.
One of these is No. 9, perhaps one of the most difficult par 3s in the state. It rests along the lake with a huge tree to the left of the green that sucks in anything on that side. The wind howls off the lake and your subconscious tells you to aim right because of the tree. Anything less than perfect will find the water on the right. Less confident golfers sometimes lay up with a wedge, hoping to get their chip close enough for a one-putt. Considering the penalties that are possible on this hole, this isn’t always a dumb move.

Gem in the trees
This is a great course. It is built in a tree farm. It is just south of Canton Tx. It is well maintained and in great condition. Tee boxes for all levels. It has challenging holes, moderate holes an a few easy holes. I would not recommend this course for beginners. The only drawback was the greens were pretty slow when we played. It was not crowded either, and we played on a Sunday. If you are looking for somewhere different to play, try Twin Lakes.
Great East Texas Course
I couldn't have asked for more from this experience. Great course in even better condition. The lay-out was fun while also challenging, and I didn't feel overwhelmed by it despite my high handicap.
We didn't use it, but the idea of the aquatic driving range was also cool.
course is clean and well maintained right down to the restrooms.
Have only been playing for one year. By far the prettiest course i've been on. Fairways and geens were in excellent shape considering the extreme heat and lack of rain for this time of year. All restrooms were very well kept, clubhouse had all emenities and friendly staff. Driving range and practice green were very well maintained. The scenery of all the beautiful trees, flowers and lakes was absolutely astounding. The only negative i could find is the fact that there wasn't any cart girls driving the course offering drinks and snacks ,and the beer was a bit pricy at $4 each.
greens slower than usual
We play this course often and it is always one we look forward to going to. Having to travel 80+ miles gives us time to really get pumped up before we arrive. The greens were slower than we were expecting and our GPS did not work on our cart, but it did not keep us from having a blast playing on a cloudy cool day.
This course is spread out
The course is spread out over a bunch of land. Beautiful flowers stretches across entire course. Course sits within Twin Lakes nursery. I absolutely will play again!
Great course
While standing on the first tee, you know this is a course unlike many others. Tree lined fairways, long water carries and multiple bunkers all add up to a great experience. The only issue I noticed was that the bunkers could use more sand. There is lots of small rocks and the sand seemed to be very shallow in even the green side bunkers. Other than that, this is definitely one of my favorite courses to play.
GREAT
THE COURSE IS BEAUTIFUL, HAS MUCH TO OFFER, HAVE TAKEN FAMILY FROM LONDON WHO WERE ABLE TO ENJOY SOME EAST TEXAS GOLF
The course is in great shape and very manicured.
With the exception of a slow 5 some playing in front of us the course was in great shape. Course is very clean and very challenging. Staff is excellent. Greens are in great shape, smooth, and quick. Stay below the hole for a good round.
Good course with good value
Really enjoyed playing the course. First time playing it and really thought there were some cool holes. The weather and it being winter time obviously did not allow me to see the course in its best shape, but I will definitely be going back in the spring. If you are in the area I recommend this course!
absolutely awesome
long off tips nice track superb bunkers and great tiff greens
superb
great experience all the way around. definate jewel
Great course for the money, worth the drive!
Course architects did a great job using the land, they also have an aquatic driving range right next to the clubhouse patio.
Beautiful, but crowded
Beautiful course. Everything was in perfect condition. Tonsof people there on a Sunday afternoon though and the Par 3's congested the flow. Great trap placements and challenging greens. Definatly will be back to play this course again.
Very pretty course. Very difficult greens!
Tucked back in the middle of a tree farm, far from the hustle and bustle of the town of Canton this course is a visual gem. Carved from stands of mature trees and twin (I thought more than two) lakes the course is layed out beautifully. Elevation changes, water, trees and the wind make for a challenging round of golf. The greens are diabolical at times as many of them do not have a flat lie anywhere.
great golf course
When we played this course, it was in top notch shape. Beautiful fairways and greens. This course plays a little long some times...But it is awesome. Best course I have played on all year. And the deal was good too! Highly Reccommend!
