Pleasant surprise
This is the third course we played in the Los Cabos area. We previously played Diamante (Dunes) and Vidanta San Jose, and got a terrific deal on teeoff.com The layout is a wonderful Nicklaus design...spacious fairways, numerous hazards (LOTS of bunkers, arroyos and some water) but they are right in front of you and force you to think about your strategy on the hole; large, undulating greens that insist you hit the correct portion of the green to avoid 3-putts,, as some pin placements are in small sections.
I played blue, my wife played red. As a 24 handicapper, she was very happy this course is "chick-friendly" in terms of distance, but has "tee-appropriate" water hazards and fairway bunkers that required her to think about tee shots, as well.
The carts have excellent GPS, which neither Diamante nor Vidanta have.
There is an excellent short game practice area and range (balls included in the price).
Although not on the water, the scenery is very nice with lots of views of the Sea of Cortez. Three holes are on the North side of the highway.
The staff was very friendly, rest stations located after #4, #7, #9, #15. There was a drink cart on course and Drinks and food available at the turn after 9 and 18.
Ice cold towels after the round are a great touch.
We will definitely play here again!
Questro Golf has ruined this course!!!
I have played this course at least 8 times in the last 18 years and today was a major disappointment to say the least. . There was barely more than a few patches of green grass on any of the fairways and almost all of the huge lakes are now dried out pita of overgrown bushes. I have enjoyed the layot of this course
Over the years and really played some good golf here, but I am afraid to say this course will be closed in less than 2 years. Everyone who works there said the same thing to me when I asked what happened to the course, they say that the irrigation system broke a few weeks ago. It looks like they stopped watering the course months ago. The funny thing is that on most of the holes, when we pulled up to the tee box a groundskeeper needed to shut off the water that was being sprayed on the fairway. Most of them were just muddy and unplayable. I thought that all the bad reviews could not be true, but trust me they are. Stay far away from this course unless you like being let down and disappointed.
Love the course
Every time I am in San Jose Del Cabo I play Club Campestre. The staff is unbeatable, super friendly and help improve the overall feeling of the course. I would have given the course all 5 stars but there are quite a few dead spots that have popped up this year compared to last year. It’s always a bummer to see that many spots when you’re spending north of $150 per round. Greens were in great shape and love the range as well. Carts have improved from last year as well. I will 100% be returning next year and playing this course.
Nice Day fair course
The starter was great at explaining and assisting to get us rolling earlier. Started out OK but the fairways eventually looked like they had a fungus or were fertilize burned. Decent greens and great sand traps around the green (soft sand). Otherwise, just fair and will probably stay with PLC or Cabo Real. One hole ended up being reduced to a Par 3 due to all the lake maintenance. Also, lots of workers and most were gracious to stop mowing and get to the side of the fairway.
Challenging Course
Tough greens, lots of traps and generous fairways…good price through GolfNow app, traps could use some care and feeding, all else good!
Everything was great- except the bunkers
It’s shocking that a golf course of this caliber and at this price could have rock hard, gravel filled bunkers. There are so many bunkers in play throughout the course and they are all the same , manicured gravel. I took a gash out of my sand wedge on the 18th hole green side bunker.
If you manage to avoid the bunkers, then it’s a terrific golf course. I had a great time playing the course. Greens are very tough, well manicured and roll very fast.
Just OK for the money
For the price the course is not up to par. Lots of brown on the fairways. Sand traps are like concrete. Had to scare off some cows eating on the 16th fairway.
The staff was awesome!
A blast from the past
I’ve played here about 5 times. Rented clubs this trip since we’re on an extended vaca around MX with Cabo the only golf spot. At the range, I told my wife (ride along) that it was like playing with my teenage clubs, old tech, short and heavy). I really had to bend at the waist and swing real slow. After a couple holes I was loving it. Nice long draws. Hit more greens from 120-170 than normal. And the course, service and conditions were perfect. Going again tomorrow!
Some of the bunkers could have used more sand, but other than that the course was beautiful condition.
Another Great Cabo Course
Good variety of fairways. A couple were wide open that accommodates any reasonable slice. Tons of bunkers though makes course management an absolute necessity. Couple houses being built around the course and a few locals? roaming the cart paths was a bit odd but other great views. Would golf here again for sure!
Beautiful Challenging Course
We really enjoyed the beautiful course! Layout is challenging but fun. Greeens were fast as lightning…but rolled great!
Looking forward to playing it again on our next visit to Cabo!
Course in good shape!
I usually book my golf during my stay but found very few tee times available on Golf Now and Tee Off. I did get two but find the prices for golf in Cabo have really gone up this year. Thinking I might not come back to golf in the future.
The course was in good shape and the pace was good until the back nine of the second round. The staff were very friendly and accommodating although the driving range was closed for a private event.
Good value compared to other Cabo options
Although Cabo has never been a cheap place to golf, we were shocked at the cost this year (peak time). We almost didn't even attempt to golf, but found Club Campestre as a "reasonable" option at 175. The course is challenging, the staff were great and the views of San Jose Del Cabo were just above average. Our group had a great time and would certainly recommend this course to anyone looking for a challenge.
