OMG the MOSQUITOES !!!
Course was great as usual, but mosquitoes
made it almost unplayable. Went through 2 cans of spray. Management, please try to do something as it really takes away from the experience.
Don't book unless you like being extorted for more $$$ for a aveage muni
Booked here(and use this a lot so I know to read fine print) Golfcourse conditions were average muni, nothing more. That's not even the bad part. When arriving to the course, Pro shop says I need to pay an extra $30 for cart. Show the girl at counter, reservation includes cart. Assures me I have to pay for cart. Essentially extorted to give them another $30 on top of the $120 I pre-paid GN for golf and cart for the wife and I. What was I to do as I just drive over an hour to get there? If I would have know you would do that, I would have just gone to GC of Houston or Tour 18. At least I would have an above average course for the same price.
A shot maker's course
Great layout, very scenic course with lots of natural areas lining the fairways. Greens are in good shape and rolled true - challenging pin placements. Wind was howling 25-30 out of the SSW so it made my first round on this course a bit more difficult. Really enjoyed playing this course, will definitely play here again.
Excellence is a standard.
Course-knowledgeable foursome loved playing the Wilderness, as always.
Not All That Was Expected
Hyped as one of the best courses in the region, I drove an hour to play. While it is a fine course, it is not in good condition (right now), and shows lots a wear. The hole layouts are a little boring, and the greens are really challenging (lots of slopes) and will only get faster. It's nice that it is not a neighborhood course, so no houses around, so good ambiance. I would play here for $50-60 if I lived closer.
Hidden Gem
I think this is course is very fun to play. The greens are in good shape and the course has a fun layout. The pace of play was very quick, but also it was very cold and windy so not many people out there. The course looks in fine shape for the weather we have been having.
Fun course, enjoyable round
Playing in early season (February), the course was in quite good condition. Fairways were dormant but full, greens were running true and mostly smooth. We had about 14 good pace holes and then we hit a five-some that played exceptionally slow. We remained stuck behind them through the remainder of the round. The marshall finally intervened, but not until hole 18 when it was too late to make a difference. Two hour front nine, three hour back nine as a result. But the course made up for it with a good layout and good conditions. We had a very nice February day as well, with low 60's and minimal wind.
Beautiful course
This is a fun challenging layout cut out of the wilderness as the name says. Everything including the way you are treated is top notch. It has a good diversity of hole design as well. You can choose just how much risk you want to bear from an array of tee boxes. Best course around by far.
Very nice layout.
Course condition was very good. Greens were rolling true.
Closed due to flooding
Unfortunately Wilderness Golf Course notified me Thursday pm that their golf course would be closed on the day of my round; January 26.
Fun Course
This is my first time playing the course. I really enjoyed it. The course layout was fun. The greens were in great shape and the pace of play was quick. I will definitely be back
We'll be back!
Great course! Excellent facility, with driving range, putting green, chipping area. Best value so far!
Wilderness
The course is a great track. From box to green the course was in great shape. Bunkers were well maintained as well. We will be back soon.
Quite the reward for a Good drive down south.
The course was super fun. Had it all to myself. In good shape. Love playing here. Tuff par 5s. will be back.
