I had one free day in the Dallas area to play golf and after a few days of looking for the right course I decided to play at Old Brickyard. That was the right choice. Far from the city the views were great all around the course. There was plenty of elevation throughout to give even the most straight forward holes some excitement and challenge. The course made me think about every shot on where and how to play the ball. The greens were in great condition and the balled rolled consistent all day. The fairways were in OK condition, but on a few holes they were not well defined. They just blended into the rough. The tee boxes were rough. I could tell they were trying to give certain areas a break, but there was not a lot of solid green grass on the tee boxes. This course was tough and challenging, but it was a fun course than made the day a lot of fun for me. I may not have shot a low score, but I still enjoyed my time and would make a return visit the next time I am in the area.

This golf course is not long, but very challenging. We played Gold tee at around 6200 yards. South wind of about 18 mph made this course very interesting. Hole No. 10, par-5, which requires 3 perfect shots going across the water, is the signature hole. We all enjoyed the course and would come back right away. The green condition was very good and fast....

Excellent course and pace of play could be better but over all not much to complain about. Narrrow fairways lots of water and deep roughs to lose your golf balls makes it challenging and frustrating. Up your golf game before you play here. The staff club house people are all very welcoming and friendly accommodating as possible.

Quick greens and lots of hills makes it really fun. Great course for the money!

This course is a gem. It has the highest elevation of any course that I have played in the Dallas area. If it is your first time playing it make sure to get the Course Guide Book. Holes 9 thru 12 are labeled the Death March. This course will challenge you. Great course layout. I am looking forward to playing it again. If you have to drive a distance to get to it, it is worth the drive.

Love the layout, elevation changes and water. Cart paths need a litle work but they are fixing that. Great course for the money whatever level you play at. No food to speak of but chips and hotdogs if they put them out.

Like two courses, front nine is hilly, then back has more water. Fascinating layout, with a big advantage for senior tees. I love it, drive 30 miles to play, but only occasionally.

Land values being what they are it's hard to imagine a better repurpose of land depleted of it's natural resources and topography. The elevation changes are very pronounced. There are more berms (and bigger) alongside the fairways than any course I've played recently. Water is a factor on plenty of holes; most crossings are wide ponds and not a meandering creek. The gas powered carts were the right cart for the steep inclines. At times it felt a little like fourwheeling. I wouldn't ever walk this course. Not that I walk many anyway. But if you're in to walking, skip this course. I especially liked the par 3 holes. Usually these holes are simply 140 ish straight mowed fairways. But here with the threes being mostly in the transition zone, the tees are elevated and most have no fairway at all. 160 yards to the green over either all water or un-mowed tall native grasses. If you don't get the ball up and near the green you've lost another ball. Many fours play like this as well. The wind was also a factor. But in Texas the wind is like the sun. My favorite hole (maybe) was #10. It features an elevated tee crossing over a wide expanse of water. 2nd and 3rd shots follow the shore of the course's largest pond. Probably for most it will be better to lay up on your third.

Course was in good shape. Pace of play was very good. Only complaint and it's minor. There wasn't enough staff at the concessions. I would highly recommend this course to anyone who likes a little challenge.

Not a good golf course for somebody that shoots over 100. I've been playing for about 8 months now and felt a bit overwhelmed. Do not go to this golf course if you have a bad temper. You will not have a good time. I however could do it again. Be sure to take plenty of balls.

It was a little far from my house, but the scenery was so good. Couple of par 3 halls are really challenging. The staff was really nice too.If they put little more effort for their lunch choice it would be much feel better.I dont like cold sandwish. Also care for femal e customer;there was no toilet paper at all in womens restroom.Othere than that it was fantastic!!!Definately i will be back!!
