Riverwood Golf Club

Riverwood Golf course is a superb facility from beginning to end. Driving range, chipping and putting areas abound. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The fairways and greens are beautiful and challenging and herein lies the rub. One downside to our round was that the entire course had been overseeded and it was cart path ONLY. This is a long course If you couldn't hit every shot alongside the cart paths, you really didn't use the cart. After your tee shot, drove on path to alongside your ball for your 1st fairway shot then carrying the clubs you needed and walked toward the hole as you advanced the ball. Back and forth to the cart was a waste of time. Lot of walking on a long course. For me, this was a downside of what I expected to be an enjoyable round. I'll play this course again, but not until the grass is established. Very pricey course 'in season'.

Nice course, gas carts are terrible, greens are true.

I liked the course, but one area of concern is the inability to see the landing area from the blue tees on 4-5 holes. Over the years vegetation that is in environmentally sensitive areas has grown to either partially or completely block the view of the fairway from the tee. This is not a problem from the white tees, but sure is from the Blues or Blacks. Not sure these areas can be trimmed back. Could be a real problem down the road.

First time playing Riverwood and I will be back. Great condition and a fun layout. Shorter holes were protected and had small difficult greens. Took a couple holes to figure the greens out, but they were fantastic. Pro shop, clubhouse, and staff were also great.

The best course in PC and the area. Excellent course conditions a must play…

had a great time. course layout is just tough enough. doesn’t take it out of you while you get to enjoy some great views. thanks to Ron, Steve and Chris for welcoming me to their group and a great round.

We have golfed many courses from Port Charlotte to the Rotonda. All the courses we have played play slower this time of year and are in average condition due to players on the field. We tried Riverwood and had nothing but a great experience. From the staff upon checking in to the beautiful fairways and quick greens it was beyond what we expected! Thank you Riverway we will be back.

Nice course but 175 dollars ? Not worth the money. Price gouging in Florida for golf has gotten way out of hand.

Amazing fairways and greens. Worth the extra money to have grass under your ball.
