Always a treat

Love this course. Only played it during the winter and this was my first round in the warm weather...what a fun course. Greens were rolling fast and very smooth. Love the layout while it's a forgiving course there are still some holes with trouble that can be a round buster. Worth the trip and money. I will be playing again in a few weeks.

Outstanding track!

What a well keep course, the greens were very true and rolled well. Playing from the white tee was fun. I wish they had more "hot deals". It's worth the 55minute drive.

Not worth full price

I tried this course since it was a hot deal - a Nichlaus design for under $40? - I was in. The course is a great layout and has some amazing views. Overall, in very good condition. Word of caution on weekdays - they have a scramble for the "seasoned" membership that has all tees used at around 10:30am. Very, very, very slow pace of play if you get stuck behind these retirees. It looked like the place was wide open when we finally finished at almost 4:00pm.

I hope Heaven is like Achasta...

This thing is a scenic monster course set down in the old gold fields of Dahlonega along the Chestatee River. Long and well bunkered - but not impossible.
Beautiful clubhouse and good food too.

well appointed and reasoanable cost north georgia mountains river valley course.

Upscale resort enviornment with pleasant clubhouse staff. Good course architecture along north georgia mountains river valley. Fairways feature tightly mowed grass bordered by thick bermuda gass rough requiring precise drives. Open front and ample greens with subtle slopes invite long appraoches and lofted wedges. Tuesday pin positions allowed aggressive approaches with birdie opportunities. Soft geens hold lofted shots and slow puts. Overall challenging and rewarding playing experience.

Well groomed, greens slightly inconsistent.

Overall the course is in very good shape...especially the fairways and tees. The greens on the other hand seemed inconsistent were in need of a little improvement. If the greens were in super shape, I'd give this course a 5 star rating. The layout is challenging and creative...one of my favorites in central Georgia. With this open course, it is difficult to lose a ball unless you happen to find the stream that winds through it.

great setting

Its a wonderful course, so scenic in the valley surrounded by hills. You will hit all the clubs in your bag. The par 5 over the river on the backside will be the biggest test of the day. With all the rain its really in great shape

Place was perfectly maintained and in good condition

Course had good pace and beautiful view. Can't imagine what it looks like in the fall. Must be amazing. Played there twice now this month and really a good course that is challenging but forgiving.

Amazing & Beautiful

Achasta is what all golf courses should strive to be like. The course is not only beautiful, but immaculately maintained. The staff is laid back, friendly and seem to enjoy working there. The course is a lot of fun to play and is challenging, but not so difficult you can't enjoy the round. I can't wait to play here again.

Will Defintely Play Again!!

Course was in great shape given all the rain we've had. Fairways cut close and a little soggy but still allowed carts using 90 degree rule. Greens a good speed and rolled true. A very enjoyable day with my wife at the twilight rate of $50.

A real nature round - saw deer, ground hogs and even wild turkeys while playing!

Achasta always a gem

Course played well given the amount if rain we have had. Great condition, nice and green! In summer, carry bug spray because the wrt conditions and river produces a lot of bigs.

Beautifully laid out.

First time playing this course and was very pleasantly surprised. It was cart path only due to heavy rain prior to my round, but we still finished 9 holes in two hours before the rain came back and chased us off. Would definitely play again and recommend to friends.

Outstanding, beautiful, well maintained golf course.. but a little pricey.

Achasta is one of the nicest public courses I've played in Georgia. The staff was friendly, the clubhouse and grounds were beautiful and the course is outstanding. Achasta also has a supurb driving range and practice facility. The conditions are perfect, the layout is terrific and the course is difficult but very fair and playable. The course is a little pricey, but if you are OK with paying $90 for a round of golf I would highly recommend Achasta.

Course is fine, nothing great. I found the other reviews loftty...

Workers on every other whole, awful range balls, club members pretty rude. No starter and twosome after twosome. Hey folks join groups. Was super long roud. Course very wide open, nothing superior to more local tracks. Maze getting from hole to hole. For $35 ok, for the 90 minute drive back to buckhead, forget it.
