Horrible customer service
The course over-booked and had a morning tournament. When we got there for our tee time we were told it would be "maybe" 45 minutes after our tee time before we could tee off. Not to mention there was about an hours worth of tee times scheduled before our. The course staff could have cared less and seemed more interested in what was on TV. White Hawk will be the last course on our list when looking for someplace to play in Tulsa.
White Hawk
this round was great. Usually expect a 5hr+ round here. They allow fivesomes :-( . We played through one when they stopped for the cart girl on the third hole.
Staff super friendly
Course in good shape. Back nine tight and challenging. Equipment always clean and in great shape. Excellent prices.
mostly good condition...
just one thing need be more attention to take care green
green so slow
Excellent course in excellent shape
I have always loved this course. After being away from the game for 3 years and having played this course many times prior it was a real treat to see in in as good if not better condition than ever. An excellent experience that I highly recommend to any golfer. Truly one of the top courses in the area. Shot my career best 89 on this course and am ready to go back to try and get those extra strokes I left behind.
Well Designed
This course is well designed to test every part of your game. The front 9 is pretty wide open and will make you think that you are awesome, PGA caliber in fact. Then the back nine will make you prove it. Tight fairways and trees demand precise tee shots. But White Hawk is always well maintained and a blast to play.
Not bad for early spring.
Traps were being worked on. Greens were inconsistant. Some airaded some sanded, others not. The greens were pretty quick over all.
One of our favorite courses with the exception of a couple of holes that always give us trouble.
Great course with nothing negative to note; had an excellent time.
Great staff, challenging course
I have played this courses several times, don't let the first few holes fool you it gets very tight on the back nine, played the championship tees requires precise tee shots. Only negative is that the greens are bad, slow and very bumpy which was surprising to me because we have had a mild summer.
Nicely layout course
I like it because it makes you manage the course for scoring well.
The greens at this time great
White Hawk is normally in good condition.
Of course this summer was tough.
However with the cooler weather the greens are quick and fair and the fairways are in good shape.
I would recommend this golf it is not a golf where somebody shoots in the 70's but great for upper 80's and above.
Played right after a rain fall.
The fairways were in great shape with the exception of #14 (I believe) that had a new creek crossing the fairway about 175 yards from the tee box. This creek was the result of the recent rain and the new housing addition.
The greens have always needed TLC and this round was no exception.
Abbreviated round
When I arrived early for a 12:45 tee time (not in my home town), I found that a tournament played that morning was still in progress and I would likely begin around 1:00. At about 1:20, I was put with three other players, all congenial enough and at a reasonably equal level of skill, and we teed off, behind a twosome that played incredibly slowly but declined to allow us to play through. The course was, in general, fairly well cut, but the greens were horrific--still suffering from aeration but with gigantic dead/bare patches; much of the time, it made sense to assume an automatic two-putt. By the time we finished the first nine holes (the back nine), I didn't have enough time to finish and still get home for an evening engagement, so I stopped and drove home. I don't think I'll be going back to White Hawk, though I confess that a couple of the holes posed interesting challenges, and the staff was congenial enough (though a marshall with some clout was needed). Playing nine holes for an eighteen hole price wasn't really a bargain, but sometimes there's value in learning where not to go.
Good layout. Pretty much use every club in the bag.
Fun layout. Requires a lot of different shots. Don't need to be a bomber to score well or enjoy. Was cruising along at a great pace through 10 holes then ran into the back of the world's slowest foursome, who never once offered to let me play through, even though it was wide open in front of them. But the course was still a good experience.
The greens were in poor condition and the area around the greens were covered with cut grass. A couple of balls were lost under the greens.
I would like to provide my comments on the course condition this past Saturday. I was surprised to find that many of the greens were not in good condition. Especially considering all of the rain we have had this past summer. Usually there's a few greens on the Back 9 below par (i.e., 11,12 and maybe a few others, The guys in my group play a different course each weekend and almost all those courses this summer have been in good condition. Also the mowed grass around the green presented a problem as it was difficult to find a ball under the cut grass. A guy in my group and in the group immediately behind us lost their balls.
I'm sure we will play White Hawk again. But not until we hear through word of mouth that the conditions have improved.
