Awesome time
Awesome course, tee boxes looked good, fairways and greens were in really good shape! Can’t wait to play again here
Good course, painfully slow pace of play
This was truly a case of a good round ruined by absence of golf etiquette and no provision of a marshal by the course. You would think that a course on a college campus would have an abundance of help but not at Keith Hills. They only had one person to check you in, no starter, and no course marshals. We waited 15 minutes on every shot. There were at least 5 open holes in front of this glacially slow group. Five and a half hours to play on a Thursday that wasn’t particularly crowded is ridiculous. On the plus side, the course is an interesting layout.with plenty of elevation changes, good variety of long and short par fours, and tough par threes. I was just so frustrated by the pace of play that I couldn’t enjoy the lovely surroundings. They really need to provide some of their golf course management students to help in the pro shop, serve as starters, and maintain pace of play.
3 different 9's
Pretty decent winter conditions at the Campbell owned course. Black and White 9's very different, which is fun. Again, conditions weren't bad for winter, better than the other 3 courses we played that week in the Sandhills area, and the price on GolfNow was amazing
Back 9 Overbooked
The front 9 went fine. But when we started the back 9 there were 8 groups teeing off who were starting their front 9. Pretty unacceptable considering this was the courses mismanagement.
Great course
Love the layout of this course. Amenities are great and great practice facility. Course took a bunch of rain so the greens were very inconsistent. Not sure how they are when they are dry but some shots on green side would check instantly and some would actually release. Outside of that. It’s a great and challenging enough course
Keith Hills
Been playing Keith Hills for years. Really enjoy the course layout. Each of the three nines presents a different challenge. Course is maintained well.
10/10 place to play. Great course conditions and friendly staff. Always enjoy myself when I go.
Terrible pacing
Played this course 3 times over the last year. Once we had a 2 hour frost delay. No problem it happens. Second time our cart didn't have enough power to make it through 18 holes. My playing partner and I would alternate pushing the cart to get it started on each hole after 10. This time it took 5 hours to play the round. The group in front of its was terribly slow and there was no marshal to speed them up despite having round trackers on the screen in the cart. Additionally, since the course is made up of 3 nine hole courses, the clubhouse started groups in the afternoon on the holes we were playing for the back 9 causing an additional backup.
Great course, great value
Third time playing this course and I’ve come to really love it. Other than the bunkers being hard as a rock today, this course is generally is fantastic condition.
Greens are fast and much more challenging than they initially appear to be. Course layout is very straightforward with just enough challenges to make you enjoy it without being frustrated or dejected.
Clubhouse workers are usually college kids who are pleasant enough but not overly friendly or helpful. Starter / rangers are much friendlier and very welcoming. The snack bar is terrible. Food is just fine - as are the prices - but their hours are odd, and the people working their are miserable and downright surly.
Nonetheless this is a great course and offers three different nine-hole configurations so you get to change it up a bit every time you play. Highly recommend!
Nice course marred by slow play
Course is in great shape, nice layout. But it was a 5+ hr round with an 8:12 am tee time. Nine minute tee time spacing doesn't work with cart path only (rained the day before). Would only come back if very dry or 1st tee time.
Great course
Me and my two sons really enjoyed playing this course. The course was fun and challenging.
Great!
I got out nice and early and thoroughly enjoyed everything they had to offer!
Nice course. Very playable.
Enjoyed our round. Played Orange Black nines. Fun layout which has plenty of variety. Well protected greens, treelined fairways and strategically situated fairway bunkers. Greens conditions were average but these have plenty of speed with subtle breaks. Traps were not in great shape. Busy course. Great value. Nice Proshop with friendly staff. Starter was not the happiest but helpful.
