Course
Booked this course and found out when we started the game that the greens were aerated. This was not disclosed to me when I booked the course!
Greens need a lot of work
A lot of the greens had sections cut out (laying down new sod). One hole was closed for maintenance work. Once the greens get fixed it will be in good shape. Could use some better drainage systems.
No Rangers and very slow pace of play
Not sure why they did not have a ranger overseeing play. 5:15 hours to play 18 holes! Mud in many bunkers and very muddy areas surrounding greens.
Great Day At Skybrook!
Pace was a little slow because the course was busy but I enjoyed every minute a Skybrook.
Pretty good for this time of year
Thanksgiving shotgun, so pace of play was understandable I guess. My only gripes with this course are with the greens. For as long as we had been without rain, you would have though the green would be tolerable, but they were incredibly slick. It was nearly impossible to hold a chip/pitch. There were also some bad bare spots on the greens, and those came into play if you had a putt more than 15'. Some of the tee boxes needs a little work, but I do not put too much thought into those since you only have 18 strokes a round from them. Bunkers are also pretty hard, but don't come into play too much if you strategize correctly. Overall, the course is in pretty good condition for this time of year. Looking forward to getting back over there as long as it doesn't rain too much in the coming weeks.
Beautiful- sad greens
This course is absolutely beautiful and challenging. We played after a massive rainfall so no rollout on the fairways which we expeted. The greens are in need of a ton of maintenance nothing rolled true just kind of bounced toward the hole. And I feel like a good short game player but felt like I lost about 5-6 strokes because of them.
The pro shop was clean and the staff was super, my problem with the pro shop is that they don't sell a box of balls but a sleeve at a time which is ridiculous. Don't get me wrong I play all over North America and beyond. That being said when at a course I go to especially a course with great prices I purchase things at the course ALWAYS, but when I feel like it's a ripoff I grit my teeth and close my mouth and purchase other products or nothing at all.
Overall I would play this course anytime I'm in the area but buy golf balls before I go.
It's gonna be a long time!!!
First let me say the club house is nice inside and out and staff was decent. The gentlemen taking bags down was very friendly. Then it went down hill from there. First they try to stick us into a foursome, I wouldn't have a issue with this except when I booked the tee time the gentlemen reserved a tee time for 2. Had to wait a extra 25 minutes to tee off so we wouldn't be paired up. Fairways were in decent shape, the rough was over grown and out of control. They have the temp greens in place right now. These were terrible temp greens literally in the middle of the fairway with a flag and spray paint to circumference around the green. It was even taking my putter out of the bag on these holes. The other greens were in ok shape to be nice. One portajohn through 18 holes of golf. Make sure you use the restroom at the club house before you take the turn. Would I pay 30 dollars for this course it in its current condition yes but not 50. The course has potentional but is not being cared for.
Chuck. We appreciate your business and would like to address your questions. Temporary surfaces are not meant to mirror the putting greens, only represent a target. This is a very regular practice when a temporary closure is necessary. Most golf courses will pair twosomes as it creates a better pace of play for everyone, especially on busier days. Tee times are designed for 4 golfers at a time. This is also a regular practice. Please feel free to let us or anyone else know if you prefer to play as two and we can tell you what time the course can accommodate. It will save you from having to wait once you're there. Please come visit us again and call ahead with questions regarding how the operation works. We are happy to assist.

A Great Course in v poor condition
Staff are great and it's a good layout. This course used to be in good shape , but not at the moment 3 holes with temporary greens and the others that are open are in poor shape.Quite a price tag for the condition.Would not recommend playing until it recovers unless you are getting a v good price deal.Such a shame.
Hi Jane5641591, thank you for your recent feedback. We understand your frustration as we improve some of the areas in need. We plan to have all of these areas recovered very soon. Please feel free to join our email list via our website to receive specials during this period. Thank you again for your business.
Solid Course
Very fun layout. Course is always in decent shape. They overbook on the weekends so the pace of play can be slow on weekends
Maintenance forgotten
Our foursome got a good deal on the round. None of us had played the course this year. Noticed that putting green had a few bare spots and grass around it was ankle deep. Between the group we lost about eight balls that were no more than a couple feet off the fairway. First cut was ankle deep and secondcut was even deeper. Only a few greens were in good shape. I can only remember two that were okay. I will not be back until they start mowing the rough and repair the greens.
good condition
A few greens are missing grass but most are in good shape. Fairways are nice.
Rough is very thick and deep on every hole. Cannot see the ball unless you are on top of it in most cases. I only play here when there is a hot deal for $30 or less.
Greens need work
A few off the low lying greens are junk almost no grass the rest are in good shape . High rough makes it very hard to locate your ball if not in the fairway overall very challenging
Bad greens and high rough
Well I really hate to say this about a golf course since I really like, but here goes. Were 2 positives - did not have a tee time scheduled for Tuesday but went to the course anyway and got right on and Club pro is a supper nice guy. However based on what I saw, the greens were in really bad shape due to the hot weather we are having. Also the second cut of rough is about 6 inches deep so if you're not in the fairway you will have issues getting the ball out. Also around the greens it is deep as well. Not sure what's going on with the golf course's maintenance or lack of. O yes one other thing please fix your divots!!!!
Worst Golf Course in Area
Last time I played this course 2 years ago it had cat tails growing in the sand traps. Yesterday the greens were completly dirt with no advance notice from the staff. The rough is over a foot deep with no mowing. I live 4 miles away and will never play this joke of a course even if offered a free round or if they paid me to play. Stay away as they need to close down. I feel sorry for the people that bought houses on the development as this is absolutley the worst I have ever seen a course. I could putt in a garden full of dirt and I would think I was at Skybrook.Never again will they get my money!
Lost balls just off fairway
I have played here a few times this year and for the most part it has been good value for the money. However, this time was a different case. We lost (or were looking for quite some time) for balls just off the fairway and around the greens. The rough was extremely deep (think US Open) to the point that if you missed the fairway by a yard it was a task to find your ball, let alone hit it. It didn't appear that the mowers had been out for a few weeks. It was incredibly frustrating losing balls that should have been playable under normal conditions. It got to the point that we stopped taking penalty shots for lost balls (in the rough) on the back side. Also, there were 2 or 3 greens that were a little burnt out. Other than that the greens were in good shape and fairways were very playable. If they get out and cut the rough, I wouldn't mind playing again. However, under the current conditions, it was not as enjoyable an experience as it had been earlier this year.
Good layout but course conditions not ideal.
I have played this course before and I was very happy with it, the greens and fairways were in great shape. However when I played yesterday, this was not the case. The first cut of rough was incredibly night, I hit a few shots just off the fairway and lost them all because the height and thickness of the rough. The fairways looked like they had not been mowed in a week as well.
I was disappointed as I really liked this course the first time I played. Not sure if I will be back.
GREAT LAYOUT
Skybrook has made a big turnaround in the past 3 years. This course is in great shape. The rough was a little too high in places, but i think that was due to the rain the day before. The greens are in above average condition for bent grass this time of year. They putted very true and moderately fast. Pace of play was around 4 and 1/2 hours which is about what to expect on a weekend round. Staff is very friendly and helpful and act like they appreciate you coming to play their course. Food is very good as well. Water coolers on the course were full and about every 3 or 4 holes. I will definitely play this course again soon.
HI Troy,
Thank you for your feedback. We are working on smoothing out our surfaces after a challenging summer. We do sell golf balls by the sleeve and dozen. I'm not sure why you were told differently but apologize for the confusion. We hope to see you again in the future.
