Best Bang For Your Buck!!
I play a lot of golf and I have yet to find a course in the northeast Detroit area that can beat the value of this course. Able to play 18 holes with a cart for 22 bucks and sometimes I can get out for under 20 dollars. Course is somewhat flat, but what it lacks in undulation, it makes up for in very tight greens and precisely placed bunkers. On most of the greens, if you miss a little left or right you better have your A+ short game, because getting up and down is a challenge. Front nine provides a more open approach allowing you to miss left or right and still be able to get to the promise land. The back nine, however, tightens up substantially with the trees and forces you to hit ball in precision spots. If you play the tips, this course plays long with a near 600 yard par 5. Course is in fabulous shape for the traffic it receives and gives you a really tough challenge for the little money it costs. I highly suggest playing this gem!
Great conditions as always
The terms "hidden gem" and "best kept secret" are thrown around a little loosely at times, but Richmond Forest comes pretty close to applying to both. Not only is this course always in pristine condition, but it's a tougher test than I think people give it credit for. The tips, if you so choose, play huge here and the whites are no bargain either. The back nine especially is not very kind to faders of the golf ball, making the course play even longer. It would be nice to see the course invest in improving their bunkers in the coming years. Also doesn't really have a quote unquote "signature hole" although the par five third hole probably comes the closest. I paid $22 today and usually can get on under 20 using golf now, which is really a steal. Clubhouse workers friendly as well. Great place.
A Real Gem
Excellent course at a very reasonable rate! Visibility of Yardage markers could be improved but otherwise a really enjoyable course!
Excellent Conditions
Course was in great shape. Pace of play was fabulous. Very challenging course.
Greens in really good shape
Course was in good shape overall. Greens were in great shape. The value is outstanding. This is what I would constitute as a hidden gem
first timer
The course was amazing, we had a slow group in front of us but i was there with some guys i haven't seen in a very long time, gave us time to catch up. Everything about this place is great, greens fareways, beautiful, i will return.
pleasing
Everything here was grand, course was challenging with H2O, positional golf and attractive layout.
Bunkers were bad with gravel instead of sand.
Stay out of these.
Beautiful
I love this course. It is beautiful and wide open. And challenge's my game.
Good Course
Course is very nice. Could really use a better drainage system. If it rains within the past week and you go there are huge puddles everywhere. Cart was very dirty though when I used it and looked like it wasn't cleaned at all in at least a week.
Richmond Forest
Richmond Forest is a very good course, with an excellent staff. I had trouble with Golfnow site crashing and did not get a confirmation. I had to reserve a second tee time. The second was a couple of bucks cheaper and they honored the lower price: I'll probably get a double bill from Golfnow.
RF has some tough putting greens and they will get your attention. I’ll play RF again.
Richmond forest
Weird shapes to some of the greens.some pin placements impossible to get to. Greens were the best I've played this year.
Great features except bunkers
I feel that bunkers having stones in them cost me club face damage that makes this course costing golfers more...
Way too slow
This is the second time I played this course and both times it took over 5 hours to play on a Sunday afternoon. This was entirely the fault of the management. They overbooked the course and let way too many twosomes out on the course without pairing them up. Also I think the relatively low price brings out some very new players who are not equipped to play a course of this difficulty. Other than the pace of play this is a very nice course, but I will not be returning anytime soon on a weekend.
Practice balls
Everything was good the course was in good shape and the greens were excellent. The only problem was trying to collect the free practice ball that came with the deal. The guy gave me a hard time but did give me the balls. He said the icon meant evening play. It was 12 pm. He had an attitude bet did give me the ball in the end. Originally he wanted to charge me $5.
Guess he should find out what icons stand for on golf now. I would not hit out of the bunkers as they will damage your clubs. Too many stone or ground up stones.
Great value
Good little course for the money. Pace of play on weekend can be slow.
Worth a try
Great conditions with some interesting designed green complexes. Some parts are 5 feet wide. But the course is in great shape with super smooth moderately fast greens.
Slow play
This course gets overbooked took 5 hours to play 18 2 weeks in a row. Lots of ranges doing nothing. Some players were hitting several extra balls.
Nicely designed course
As for my first time playing this course I would have to say I was pretty impressed. Everything was great but I wouldnt go on a monday due to the fact all the grooming equipment was out and quite annoying at times. Other than that I'd say go for it!
Great Course
The course is very well taken care of and very beautiful. Course can be difficult at time, but who doesn't like a challenge? Very enjoyable time on the course.
Great course.
Very nice course with challenging holes and nice scenery. Pace of play was very good.
