Oldie but Goodie
Temple Terrace is a course that I have wanted to play for many years. It was designed in 1921 and is the only course in Florida to be on the National Historic register. Pretty cool stuff! The course is situated right in the heart of a Temple Terrace neighborhood. So much so that there are streets bordering almost every hole, and it has many large old oak trees on most holes. I found the course to be fun to play with its somewhat limited yardage and small greens. The greens were in very good shape generally. However the tees and Fairways could use some improvement. That's not to say that it was a deal-breaker for me. While there was no beverage cart on the course we found the lounge area very nice for lunch afterward. Overall I thought it was a fun course at a very reasonable price and I would definitely play it again. The only suggestion I would have is for additional directional signage for those that have never played. There were times when we were confused as to which way to go for the next Tee Box.
Bunkers
Need white sand in all bunkers! Hard dirt isn’t fun!
Poor condition but the greens were excellent
Course very tired around the edges and layout was pretty unremarkable. It runs through an urban development with roads running parallel to most holes. If you are looking for a picturesque course in great surroundings then this is one to avoid. Greens were in great condition but super fast. No range and no chipping area (only nets). Sorry but we would not be back.
Easter Sunday round at Temple Terrace
By far the best part of my 12:20 round on Easter Sunday was the pace of play. Played our round in just about 3 hours, not sure if that’s due to the day we played being Easter but it was great. Course was in average shape, most bunkers were hard pack so not ideal but fairways and greens were standard. Got this round in a hot deal so solid price but probably wouldn’t pay more than I did to play here.
Good value, conditions were ok for winter/spring golf
Seems like they could have put more seed on the course. Fairways were patchy greens were just aerated (not mentioned when booking) but were still pretty smooth. We played preferred lies. A course of this caliber should have better fairways, but still enjoyed the course and will play again.
Greens were punched, fairways meh. Played preferred lies
Better last time I played. Aerated greens and fairways hade lites of bare areas. Great layout. Nice staff.
Average Course
Found the course to be OK. It was a windy day but the fairways are very generous. The bunkers were unplayable - the sand was completely hard packed. The greens looked good but the speed was inconsistent. The layout was not super interesting.
Terrific Temple Terrace!
Check in was great - 60 degrees and sunny. Light breeze 5-6. Pro Shop was helpful being a first timer.
The fairways could use some more grass but the Greens were rolling very well. Tee boxes were good.
No cart girl on Tuesday. Jeff the cart guy was johnny on the spot! A cold beer at the end of a great round outside on the patio is a must. Patio overlooks #1 and the putting green. Thanks TTGCC!
Different than most Florida courses
This was a really enjoyable course. The course is different than most Florida courses in that water really only comes into play on one hole. The tee shots are not challenging, but the greens are very small with many bunkers, which makes for some very challenging approach shots. The course is extremely picturesque and I loved the course in general.
Everything was in pretty good shape. Bunker sand was a touch heavy, greens had a couple of spots here or there, and it was sometimes hard to tell where fairways started and ended. However, for the price (I paid $57 after taxes/fees), I felt this course was a great value for the money.
Great layout
The greens were very slow, compared to recent times. #7 green, is still not in great shape.
Everyone had to play a shortened #1 because of a festival on the leftside of the hole.
Bendelow challenge
Had a great day at Temple Terrace. Staff and members really friendly. Got paired up with a lovely couple from Upstate New York which made the game even more enjoyable. Course is not too tough but is laid out well. Only one real water hazard made for a pleasant change from usual Florida courses. Lots of shots to tree lined fairways and some tough dog legs. Overall in very good shape with greens especially good. Highly recommended
March 6th Experience
Wow, what a fun day on an historic course I learned a lot about from wonderful, professional employees (in the clubhouse and while playing the course with an employee and his dad).. The greens were phenomenal, as was the layout. Lots of variety! Can’t wait to get back there again next February/March, bringing others with me. Truly an enjoyable experience in every way.
Good round
Course was in good shape, pace moved easily without waiting.
Course and greens were a great shape would definitely come back
