You get what you pay for
This was a cheap round (less than $40 with a cart), so my expectations were set going in. I would rate the course as average overall. The greens were in really bad shape - so much so that my playing partner and I agreed that we would hold each other to a max two putt (within reason) due to the conditions. Pace of play was fine and fairways/bunkers were good. Not a bad experience, but also not a course I would go out of my way to play again.
Ditto chase
Very nice good price But need to work on green
This course has horrible greens
I have never played on greens that were in such bad shape when all of the area courses greens are really good . The only excuse i can think of is they are closing it soon to renovate the entire course , and they don't really care what the golfer think when they play there !! They should just go ahead and close if this is all they can bring to the table . Save your $$ and play elsewhere till they have a clue how to grow at least decent greens !!
Great Layout
Don't play this course often but it has some of the best elevation changes in the DFW area. It was in good shape for January, greens were a little bumpy, but an overall very enjoyable experience.
nice course unfavorable pace of play
windy out had several groups in front of us including a group of 1 rider and 2 walkers surprising enough the walkers were faster than the rider played 2 balls all day ranger said something to them 3 times one guy in our group got hit by a tee shot said something to staff and nothing done about it round was over 5 hours long i do like this course and play it a lot during the week but there needs to be something done to improve the experience
Nice course.. will play again
Considering the enormous amount of rain that this region has received recently, the course was in a pretty decent shape. The course played fair and I will definitely be coming again.. hopefully in better weather conditions.
Slow play = fun killer
No marshalls actively enforcing pace of play on a Saturday. Over 5 hours to get in a round is a beating
Great value
Very good value for Monday afternoon golf. The golf course is playable but some green needed maintainance. Pro shop try hard to sell stuff.
Always Enjoy This Course
I have played at Chester Ditto several times. I am fairly new to the area and found it originally using the GolfNow app on my phone. I think it is a great course for the money. It is not too easy but it is not too hard. I am a low to mid 90s golfer so take that into account when I say easy or hard course. it is challenging for me but it is not so hard that I get too frustrated. The course is always in great shape and clean. The staff are great, the equipment (golf carts) are nice. Overall a great course. My only complaint, and it has gotten better over the summer, is that greens are not nearly as nice as other courses I have played in the area. They are slow and many are bumpy as the grass does not appear to be that great. The back 9 greens are better than the front and like I said, they have gotten better as the summer has progressed. But they are not such that they discourage me from playing here.
Fun layout
I've played this course many times and it usually in very good shape. We are surrounded by nice courses in the area but I always look forward to playing here. The
A little too much watering the lawn
We've played this course twice in the last month during a very dry period yet there was still standing water in several places on the course. Challenging elevation changes and narrowing fairways. Couple of greens under repair. Overall, a fun challenging course that we enjoyed playing very much.
Great day on a great course
The staff was great and gives excellent customer service. The course was in great condition, and well maintained. Overall experience was awesome as usual.
Good Golf for the Money
This was the second time I have played Chester Ditto and I have not been disappointed. Numbe 6 green really needs work but all in all a nice course for a beginner. My wife and I will be back
Their decision to not cut the greens will keep me away.
I have always enjoyed Ditto, but not so much this time. Staff was great as usual. A Player Assistance guy was the rudest I've ever come across, but maybe he was just having a bad day. Fairways were nice. Greens are hands down the worst in DFW. I was told they will not be cut any lower, because they will burn. Funny how every other course in DFW has fast smooth greens and they arn't burnt. I play 3 times a week all over DFW & no course I have played or even heard of has greens like a shag carpet. Also, has some very strange grass growing on many. I was told it was goose grass. Not sure what that is, but it looked like a type of St Augustine. I play with a group of 10-15 golfers on Sat & Sun and we play all over DFW, but this will not be one of our stops. Lake Arlington is in much better shape for the same price range. Better players prefer nicer greens than fairways. If you like 1960's & 70's style greens then come on out, but practice putting on a blanket before you play. The new course can't come fast enough. At least the staff is still great.
I will never go there again.
if you are a serious and decent golfer, don't bother going to this course. slow pace, extremely slow. full of beginner golfers that would driver their cart up to the green. some greens are just like fairways.
Cart service
We didn't see the beer cart until we were coming around on the turn.
Course condition
Course is well maintained except some greens. Green speed is unpredictable, most of that are too slow.
Great golf for the money
For a good deal this course is well worth it. Hole 6 par 3 had a horrible green that is patched together and the rest of the greens are hard to putt on with a slow and thick grass. That being said it is still worth your time if the deal is right.
Mitch
Enjoyed this course tee boxes and fairways were in good shape. Green were a little rough and played very slow
The Tale of Two Nines
In general the course conditions were good with the fairway in excellent shape but some of the greens in less the ideal condition. The front nine plays fairly easily with wide fairways and accessible greens. You must be familiar with the course to take full advantage of the front nine. The back nine is another story, the fairway are narrow surrounded by trees. There are some water hazards but not an extraordinary amount. The elevation changes are more pronounced on the back nine. I like the course but I'm waiting the makeover Arlington is planning on doing.
