Biblically horrifily slow. There was a threesome of some guys deep in the cups in front of us....no sin there. However...they refused to let us play through...We addressesd the issue with the pro shop and they countered that whilst they' slow they were on pace ( 3 holes of nobody in front of them ) so we had to suck it up .

I've played Kizer dozens of times thru the years and two months ago I wrote that I've never seen the course in better shape. In early part of May the course was lush and the greens were smooth and rolled true. Fairways and tee boxes were perfect.......Well, I played it yesterday and if not for $12.00 GolfNow deal, I would recommend you stay away until either a huge amount of rain hits the Austin area for 7-10 days consistently, or the City decides to actually water the course. Kizer, sadly, is now in very poor shape. The course is completely burned out (yes, I know it's late July) and the greens are hard and bumpy and dead spots everywhere. I play once a week, and despite dry-late summer conditions, there are plenty of better maintained courses in Austin right now. I recommend you stay off Kizer until September/October......or until a huge storm hits the Austin area for a few days straight.

Greens & fairways are in great shape. Interesting links layout with some challenging undulated greens. Putting speed was pretty slow compared to B-Bonnet, S-Glen, & D-Springs - typical for Austin Munis.

The course was difficult to find but I had never been there before so that is not a problem. The course layout was difficult for me since this was my first time. I thought the course was in could shape and I enjoyed the round and would play it again.

The course was in rough shape. Jimmy clay was in better condition and it cost less. Kizer's greens were extrememly disappointing, slow and best up pretty good, there were even patches of green missing on some holes.

For only playing this course once I can tell that the people that take cares of this place do an amazing job. The views are splendid and it's very fun playing this course. Lots of water hazards makes this course tough but nonetheless it's very enjoyable.

This course is typically in as good or better condition as any (Avery, Terra Vista, Barton Creek) but some of the greens are starting to deteriorate, a month ago they were all above average to excellent, today they are average and going down hill fast. I hope they don't have a Forrest Creek issue, that would be a shame, right now the 55 dollar weekend price is bordering on theft.

I've been playing this course for over ten years. This is the best managed Muni in Austin by far.! All the other Muni's (Municipal Golf Courses) in Austin have lost their greens for various reasons except Roy Kiser.

Well done Roy Kiser management Team!

I have played out here a couple of times over the last month. In late May the greens were really good, last week 6/11, they seem to be deteriorating, some much worse than others. I am concerned. Overall, it is still really good, but the 55.00 weekend fee is outrageous.

Great course especially for the money. The fact that you can play a legitimate Links Style course in Austin is amazing. Course has always been in great condition when I've played (played in Dec., March, May, and last Fall). Only problem I've ever run into is pace of play since they sometimes allow fivesomes.

We just moved into the East Austin by the airport and discovered we live 11 minutes from this course. Yesterday we tried it for the first time and LOVED it. The layout is fun (challenging but fair) the lunch options were great and there is a Scottish Alehouse for when you finish. Daddy likes very much!!!

This course is in phenomenal shape and is worth every penny (which is a very affordable). With that said, it almost seems like they need to spread out the tee time a little more or drop the number off tee times they have per hour because the course has been very stacked up the last couple times I have played there. The only other thing I would say is they need to be more adamant to their players about fixing their divots, the greens are in great shape and it's a shame to walk up to the green and see pots marks all over them.
