Reviews
Course closing end of 2017
Course is closing at end of 2017 season. Notified through Facebook 800 homes is projected. Good bye Paris
Excellent course
The course is quite challenging. But it is so beautiful. Very enjoy every time, when I played there.
Pace of play
Our tee time was 10:30am finished the front nine 1;30pm, could not finish the back nine only had time too play another 4 holes.
Was going to play until I realized that they were putting out a tournament of 80+ people and then expected me to tee off 10 mins after that.....utter garbage! Any reputable place would have a buffer of some sort. I guess the fact that they are shutting down means they don,t Care anymore. Too bad...used to be a nice place to play.
Nice course
The holes near the river are very hard fairways or swamp. The rest of the course is great!
Fast Greens
I play this course once a year and always enjoy it.
This round the greens were the fastest of any course i have EVER played, Pin placement was diabolical, always on the edge of a slope, it was imperative that you were below the pin, or you were guaranteed a 3 put or more. The rough was fairly long and lost balls were the norm in our group.
Paris
Another excellent day at Paris Grand, beautiful course, no 2 holes alike.
Not the Paris Grand I'm accustomed to...
If you like overflowing garbage cans, pock-marked shaggy greens, glacial pace of play and getting booted off the golf course half an hour before dusk, then this is the place for you. I've played plenty of rounds at Paris Grand in my lifetime and consider myself a fan of the course, but this will be my last time. With all of the great options in SW Ontario, there is no need to waste my time and money here. A disappointing experience from start to finish, culminating with getting asked to leave the course on hole #15 as it was half an hour before dusk. I've never experienced this in my golf career. If the rumours are true, and this course is headed for real estate development, there will be no tears shed from this golfer...

Tough back 9
Indifferent reception in pro shop. Nice course and well maintained. Challenging layout, especially the back 9. Some holes require precision and even good shots can be penalized. Some very narrow fairways combined with thick rough make it quite difficult. Lots of blind shots. Pars followed by triple and quadruple bogies on the card.
Always enjoy this course, and Saturday was no exception. Got a cheap deal and played at 5:15-The course was basically all mine! Fairways, greens and the sand traps were all in fine form; only issues were the maintenance being done on the 9th fairway (leaving an open pit) and the grounds keeper who cut every green in front of me so I had to wait for him to finish....
Some different holes
Some varying hole lengths on this course, that require you to make some choices on your shots
sold for development
why support a course you cant play next year?
money talks once again-sold for housing development.
Great Course
Always a joy to play..the back nine was quite slow however--a couple ahead of us were really slow--always an open fairway and green ahead of them. There was a single behind them that we had let through--they wouldn't let him go. Never saw a ranger once who could hav expedited things. Other than that,,an awesome experience.
It was a lot more pleasurable on Nov 2, than this review and the comment would lead you to believe... I would definitely get out and play it one more time if I had the opportunity. We used Golfnow and had absolutely NO problem!
This is an eye-opening assessment - Unfortunately it is not overly surprising. the course was already showing signs of issues a few years ago with honoring Golf Now deals. Add Paris Grand to the unfortunate list of good to great Ontario courses that are mismanaged, in disrepair and failing to understand that sterling customer service is not optional. There are other choices, and last time I checked money was accepted everywhere.
