Ocean Resorts Golf Club
About
Located just six miles west of Ocean City, Md., Ocean Resorts Golf Club is a good option if you're looking for a round that is fun to play but still a good value. The course is known for being player friendly enough for any skill level but there are still several challenges in store with multiple sets of tees that range from 4,800 to 6,500 yards. Water hazards come into play on a few holes and there are also several strategically placed bunkers you'll have to contend with. The layout rewards proper club selection and good strategy but it's not overly punishing for high handicappers. A unique aspect of Ocean Resorts is that it's owned by the Wor-Wic Community College, which uses the golf course as a living laboratory for students in the green industry.

Disappointing
We play Ocean Resorts often, so we generally know not to expect a top-tier golfing experience. However, we’ve found it to be a good place to practice and work out some kinks. This time we had a hot deal combined with some Golf Now rewards, so we paid about $25 for two. That would have been a great rate except that the course was in terrible shape. In addition to the poor conditions, we saw at least two groups of five playing together on the same hole. Things backed up, but there was no marshall in sight. We gave up after nine holes, turning our great deal into a so-so one.
Early Birds
I had the 8:00 tee time. The course was in great shape. We had the course all to ourselves. Finished are round in 3 hours 45 minutes.
So much potential …
This course has so much potential- some really wonderful hole designs - but the conditions need A LOT of work. Definitely not worth the price - and watch out for all of the five-somes (even saw a group of 6).
Beautiful course layout, subpar conditions
This course has a great layout! A true shot makers course, holes that make you really think. Would really like to see what the course would play like if it were taken care of. It’s a shame because the course a lot of potential. Tee boxes are ok but some greens are just terrible. Unputtable. I decided to quit after 9. This course advertised as "mobile check-in" but you still have to go inside and check-in. Also, need to get a cart key. Dealt with not so friendly staff.
Good course for the money
First time playing this course. As a newer golfer, it was challenging enough to test my skill level. A could of the greens were in our shape which is the reason for the lower stars for the rating. It had rained for 4 days straight before I played and there was some standing water but that is to be expected. Overall a good experience on the course. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Winter rules, cart path only, aerated greens, coastal flooding, and a fine day on these super links. The card tells a lot more than yardage, slope, and rating. Best strategy for each hole was clearly stated. I played the green tees, just right for my game. Met up with another single senior. Had a fun 9. Played the back 9 alone. Course to myself. Comfort stations immaculate. Cafe was closed, but the clubhouse and pro shop had everything you'd like. I booked my round on the Golf Now app which I highly recommend. I will give the Ocean Pines course 5 stars across the board when I play it in the summer.
Tough Greens to play
Nice folks in club house and layout is very pleasant. Greens and tees are not in good shape...however early in season...
March Golf
Course was in good enough shape for a $30 round. Pace of play was good. Money well spent.
Wet conditions
Our area (Ocean Pines), had some steady rain which made this course even more challenging. There was a pond in the middle of one of the fairways that the player had to play around. Typically this course would be a 4/5 course for me but not today
OFF AND RUNNING
It was 90° cart in the fairways. For it being February course was in pretty good shape. I played in 2 and a half hours.
Rough conditions
Aeration plugs were everywhere. They should have been raked up and removed. Some greens were almost unplayable. It is Winter, but they could have done more to make the course playable.
All To Myself
I had a 9:20 tee time and was finished at 11:50. For the price and pace of play, you can't beat it.
