Terrible Greens - All sand
Wow! I paid $ 65.00 to play a golf course that has NO REASON to be open. Most golfers play golf to see how they can score, the golfer against the golf course. No scoring on this golf course, putting on the greens was very disappointing, I have played this golf course at its best and it is in very bad shape at this time. The attention to detail on this golf course was excellent when it first opened,, very little attention now. This course needs to be closed or have temporary greens setup until the greens are repaired. $65 is way too much money to play on bad greens with so many great golf courses in DAL. I doubt our group will every play Tour 18 again, until the greens are fixed.
Course is in a terrible condition
The course is in a terrible condition. Fairways are brown, Greens are slow and full of weeds, tee boxes look like waste areas. Stay away!
Bad shape
Everything was under maintenance; the course looks like the management has run out of money has stopped maintaining it for the last 3-4 months
Not worth it
The course is in horrible shape. Fairways and Tee-boxes have little to no grass. The greens are SLOW and bumpy. Not worth playing.
Such disappointment
This is not my first time playing Tour 18. They did warn us when we checked in that they had lost their fairways over the 2023 summer. That was an understatement! The fairway conditions were terrible. Areas had been resodded but it was a fraction of the areas that were needed to be restored. They would have been better served redoing entire holes than the unusual, seemingly random areas that had been done on certain holes.
Sand traps were also ragged and sometimes sandless. The greens were bumpy, and in no way as smooth and speedy as one would expect of PGA Tour recreations. I would not recommend playing here again until ownership either makes a commitment to restore the entire course or reviews again make it sound like the conditions have been returned to the level expected of a golf course designed to honor the best holes on the PGA Tour.
Course in poor condition
Heavily over watered around the greens, poor fairways, new sod in place in some places, but not everywhere it needs to be. In the same sand bunker, one area would be especially wet, while another was hard like a rock.
Very disappointed with the condition of the course especially based on the neighborhood it is in.
Needs too much work
This course is a disgrace. No fairways and greens aren’t much better. They are trying to add sod to some areas but the attempt is too little too late. The course should be shut down and worked on for at least a year to get it back to a playable condition.
Course needs help
The fairways have no grass still
Other courses growing
They did spend money on sod so that will help
In 3 months
Greens sucked really cannot blame course because no one fixed ball marks on green
Like playing on the moon
The course itself is a blast to play
Very challenging
Fooled me for the last time
I've been a fan of this course since it opened. What use to be magical has now turned into absolute garbage. I had not played it for about 18 months before this last visit. Figured they needed some time to restore it to its former glory. Despite perfect weather and a spring that has been filled with rain and an ideal growing environment, the course is simply unplayable. They are spot sodding and where they have not laid sod down is just mud. Greens are shaggy, filled with weeds and hallmarks. Bunkers might have sand or might not. Cart paths broken, cart stalled a few times during the round as well. Overall this is a course neglected by time. Because it has the island green and a few holes from Augusta, it will forever lure people to try it. Listen to me now and believe me later dont waste your time.
Not worth it at all - don't even consider it!!
The only redeeming quality this course has is that it is in a nice area. Probably 7-8 fairways looked like actual construction sites - these fairways were sometimes 90% dead grass. Simply unplayable conditions. You may pipe a drive 300 down the "fairway" just to get there and have your next shot be off of a patch of mud. It was almost laughable. Not worth the $89. Pace of play was pretty fair - a few backups but ended in 4 hours 15 minutes.
I'm astonished they're charging this much money for a course in such poor condition. Greens were like putting in a pinball machine. Lake Park is 400% cheaper and at least has grass in their fairways and consistent greens.
Poor conditions
I have played this course many times and have always enjoyed it. The last year I’ve played it 3 times and every time the condition of the course is poor. Greens ran pretty good but there are no fairways. They are re sodding some fairways but 70% of them still need lots of work. Tough to want to make the decision to play here again for what they charge. Many other courses that charge half the price have better conditions. Giving this place hope though. We will see how it looks in a few weeks with the new sod and spring weather.
In Very Needed Repairs Mode
The course is in repairs mode. Many fairways need to sodded with grass. Greens were avg as well. The imitation to great golf course holes is not that good. Definitely needs improvements.
Great iconic course
Great iconic course, but with current renovations the fairways are consistent mudholes. Looking forward to experiencing it with full fairways. I'd make the whole course cart path only to help speed it up.
Course is in rough shape
I played Tour 18 a year ago and loved it. Wow has it changed in a year. There were significant areas missing grass and bunkers that looked abandoned. It was disappointing.
Good greens, but fairways need help
I have played at the Tour 18 course in Houston area in the mid 90's. I haven't been back to one since yesterday. I was excited to play this track in Flower Mound (Dallas) due to the final 3 hole being Amen Corner at Augusta. All of the greens were decent paced, and in good quality condition for play. The fairways; however, not so much. I was really surprised by this, because of the clientele that it has of on course homeowners. These homes are easily in the millions range, and the money coming into this place should be significantly higher than other courses in the area. I'm not sure why the conditions were as bad as we experienced them, but there is a lot of potential if they are able to get the fairways in order. JMO
Just ok
Fairways and greens were just ok. There weren't any trash cans or ball/club cleaners anywhere...there was one sweet cart girl however... played with a discount but wouldn't be worth playing at full price
Great concept and course design…
Unfortunately it was in such rough shape that it made parts of the course unplayable. I’m not sure why the maintenance is so bad but someone needs to be held accountable.
Good Round
Had a good day. Course seems to be getting back in shape.
