Hard Pass

I have played this course several times over the past few years and this was by far the worst conditions. Greens were bumpy, fairways were bald in some places and tee boxes were bare. Weeds everywhere, and it seems that nothing is being done to fix. Nothing roped off, aeration and seed? Nothing. At $120 this may be the biggest rip-off in Dallas. Typically we have gone to Bridlewood for “pristine” conditions, just wasn’t the case.

Golf is getting expensive!

Decided to go play one of my DFW favorites Sunday. Bridlewood is a great neighborhood golf course. Nice mix of parkland holes mixed with some links-ish holes. You can normally count on great conditions, this trip had recently aerated greens but rest of the course was A+. Carts are some of the best in town. Cart girls are too. Staff was friendly and range was full of locals hitting balls. A few random CPO holes for course turf management. Great layout that is not overly tough, but lots of fun holes and angles. Always enjoy Bridlewood, just wish I had caught the greens in better shape for $125.

Quick, early AM round. Perfect conditions for first week of March. We were the 2nd group out on a Monday. Played in 3.25 hours. Great conditions for early season - nice, true greens. Will definitely be back.

Badger

The greens were spectacular. Rest of the course was sub-par probably due to the winter. I get it. The one thing that was very upsetting was that we did not see a beverage cart the entire round. Too bad. They lost quite a bit of revenue from just our group. I was approached in the pro shop about their membership and how good the club was. How can it be that good if we didn't get to order 1 drink on the course. Decided to get a couple drinks and sit outside on the patio after golf. No service. We had to go get our drinks from the bar.

Signed,

Thirsty Badger

Not getting value for money

I’ve played Bridlewood a few times and this was easily the worst experience, and not just because of the wet and muddy course conditions. We were told the range was closed because of the conditions, no problem and totally understand that. However, when using the practice green, we were confronted by an elderly worker who harassed us about how we could have possibly obtained range balls to use in the chipping area when he has been there since 6am and no range balls would be available. We said ok we can use our own balls, but he continued to press the issue about where the balls were and how we were using them. Incredibly petty and treating us like children who got away with having range balls that were lying around in the practice area was not a good start. Now let’s talk green fees. I understand that this place can command a premium because it’s usually in pretty good shape but the course on this day was a swamp with vast areas of standing water and mud everywhere. Cart path only in that situation is totally understandable, but paying nearly $100 to play on it?!? The front desk did not even consider a discounted rate on account of the playing conditions, but made sure to push memberships on us. No thanks, and I’m not making the 45 minute drive to this place again when there’s no way to get the value for all the money you pay.

Some people wouldn’t know a frost delay if it hit them in the boo-boo!

Bad

It’s a public course that thinks it’s a country club from the staff to the “members”.

There was an hour delay due to “frost” temperatures never got below 38. Pace of play was terrible, the front 9 took more than 2 and a half hours and at that point I left.

As a member of a country club I think public courses should stick to just that.

Great deal with discounts

Bridlewood was great. If you can play it for under $60 you should definitely do so. Weekend rates get a little crazy in my opinion.
