Best Course Around
What's not to love about this course? They have really turned things around. They completely redid everything. First off, the club house and practice area are top class. The staff couldn't have been more kind. Course was in fantastic shape, as it usually is this time of year. Layout really challenges all skill levels. Scenery is impeccable, you won't find a better view while playing golf anywhere else. Make sure you bring plenty of balls because water comes in to play on most holes. Greens are the fastest on the Eastern shore in my Opinion, usually running at 11-13... so be careful.
Also, Make sure to replace divots and pitch marks so we all can continue to enjoy this breath taking course in its best condition possible. If you're any where close, it's a must play.
Never ever go to this course
This was by far the worst Golf Course I have ever been to in my life. Sand traps had no sand in, all full of crabgrass. The greens are so bumpy, the ball bounces 2" in the wrong direction. The holes on the greens had so much grass growing over that the only way to see the hole was by the the flag in it. I will never go here again
This course should not event be on Golf Now, it is a disc-raise. to GOLF.
Horse Bridge
I would recommend this course for someone that is a beginner or someone working on their short game (irons). The pace of play was great. The price is right.
Sad for a course that has potential!
After living here for 5+ years, I decided to give the course a try. As with other reviews on this course, the tee boxes hadn't been mowed in months. Almost impossible to cleanly hit a ball that is setting 6 inches deep in grass (on the tee box). Two of the greens were absolutely unplayable due to complete coating of goose dung (everywhere!). The layout is good and being a par 3 course (a couple par 4's) there are shots that make you think. Problem is the course doesn't get mowed. Grass higher than 7-8 inches is everywhere and just makes playing unrealistic and not fun.
goat track
I imagine this may have been similar to original courses. Someone went out and dug some holes in the pasture and stuck a stick in it with rhe stick pointed in whatever angle. the holes were overgrown with grass to the point of obscurity. the holes appeared they were placed in early March and hadn't been touched since. Greens were marginal at best, alot of weeds and bare spots group ahead of me were loitering on 14th green so I skipped to 18 and they followed me as I dont think they could find the others due to vegitation I gave up and went home.
Fun on a budget
You can't beat $10 for 18 holes with a cart. Adequate and cheap option for beginners.
However, the course conditions are very poor. There's no sand in the traps and the greens do not roll true (in fact, most greens are 25%+ dead). Staff said they are working to fix the greens.
I'll be back since you can't beat the price.
For a first time golfer
I took my father who had not played in years and it was a perfect place for him to go.
The course itself is in terrible condition but it would be great for a beginner or family to attend. My father will be back as he is trying to get back into the game. Not recommended for anyone that plays regularly.
this course is only for non skilled family outings
the course was in terrible condition its only use would be for family outings or for unskilled players
NEEDS WORK
NICE PEIOPLE BUT NEEDS MUCH WORK. LOOKS LIKE THERE TRYING. I WOULD WAIT FORE A FEW WEEKS TO GO THERE . NEW GREENS BEING PUT IN. IT NEEDS A LOT OF ATTENTION BUT THEY ARE TRYING. DON'T RECCOMEND NOW BUT MAYBE LATER..
This would be a great executive 18 hole course if the course was properly maintained. Too bad the grass was so overgrown.
If your new at playing golf this may be a good course, but then again it could also hurt your game. Course in general needs a lot of attention, example - tee boxes (grass was taller then the tee), fairways (worst then my back yard, clumps of grass), greens (really bumpy and like playing on dirt). If you are into disc golf this would be a great place.
This course needs a lot of TLC.
Would say it was not bad had it been taken care of. Good layout. The greens were like putting on fairways, the tee boxes were so deep you could hardly tee ball high enough to hit. Not clearly marked when driving from tee box to tee box. To sum it up this course is a bad not well kept par 3 course.
The couse was not conducive to a game of golf. The greens were in need of serious attention as well as the bunkers. The fairways were poorly kept.
