Awful
Terrible course. I’ve never played on a worse kept course. There is just no money being spent into this course. The layout isn’t horrible and could make for a great course if the money was spent to add some grass to tee boxes.... and fairways.... and greens. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!
Trash
Tee boxes bad, fairways horrible, greens were embarrassing. Has to easily be the worst course I’ve played. 30 for the round plus 16 for a cart, what a joke. Stay Away!!!
Good course, terrible prices & rules
I have been playing MV for years. New owner bought a couple years ago. Has been bringing course back to life after previous let course go a bit. I live in this neighborhood but a few things are making a lot of people drive 5-15 miles away just to not play this course. Pro shop employee has no patience and is rude (He has always been on edge with previous owner to). Next is the cart fee. This is another reason people are not going there. Say I buy a $45 game of golf for 18 holes. If anyone that wants to go with me that doesn’t even play golf and just wants to ride (my wife, kid, dad, grandpa, friend) still has to pay to ride on that cart I just paid for. They are not playing they are simply riding for fun and enjoying the day. The owner has made a cart fee $20-25 just to sit there and watch. Blames it on insurance. While any other course in this area does not charge for a rider just riding. This is why we don’t waste our money at this course anymore. If my 80 year old grandpa wanted to ride and the owner said $20 to him he would laugh in her face. He can’t even swing a club anymore. Very poor customer service. When she dries up all the players and no one wants to play there anymore over a rider fee she will learn. Maybe she needs to call any course in dfw that doesn’t screw people and get their opinion because the people that actually live in MV don’t even want to play there. It’s embarrassing and disgusting. Another reasoning is any course out here in dfw has hot deals on golf now with cart included. If you buy a $35 hot deal from this place the cart isn’t included so get ready to spend another $15-20 on a cart. Another reason people are done going here. That’s the point of a hot deal is to get a good deal on the whole package including everything not paying $35 to walk 18 holes that’s a terrible deal. The new owner really needs to call other courses around here and get opinions because they’re losing business like this. If they want to fit in great if not one day she’ll understand and have to sell out and I’ll buy it from them.
Mountain Valley
Nice layout and would be a great walking course except for the August heat. Greens were inconsistent with some being slow, some very slow and the rest okay. Once the members go off in their groups, about 3 or 4, it was almost like we had our own course. A fun day and enjoyable.
Stay Awake False Advertisement
My deal included cart also require prepaid when we get there a friend arrives prior to me aparently multi groups scheduled 730 tee time. Also charged him a cart fee I posted review thru google aswell. Unable to add screen shot cart was included. Also greens were in terrible shape
Not a bad course
Wide open, Surprisingly no bunkers which isn’t all bad. nice course. Back 9 needed so up keep but not to bad considering what we paid for.
Great course
Great course, liked the layout. Friendly staff. Definitely play again.
I will be back for sure
Old school and I liked it very much! Course is in great shape and I cannot understand why so much negativity in those bad reviews . I have played other courses including those greens fee almost doubles compared to mountain valley but mountain valley greens are as good as those high dollar courses. By the way, here is never crowded and they don’t force you to pair with strangers . you can finish a round within 2 hours
Great place to golf and meet people
Played for the first time last week, moving into the area very soon. Excited to have this as my home course! Layout is unique and very challenging! Course is very well maintained, and staff was very kind and helpful.
Nice for beginners
The course is pretty straightforward with no sand and little water in play. I purchased the hot rate and didnt know it was the walking rate so they charged me for a cart when I arrived. It wasnt really worth that much considering the 40 mile drive. But if you fear sand this place is for you!
Very affordable, Great golf course
Make sure to look at the date on these reviews! The new ownership has completely turned this place around! The staff is super friendly and they are always there to help. They are constantly working to make this course better and better. For the price you will not find a better golf course To play anywhere near the Mansfield/Burleson area. Go play a round at Mountain Valley Country Club and I promise you won’t be upset with the course and experience.
Beautiful Course and well maintained
Beautiful course, lots of trees. Greens are good but hard to read. Some of the greens are new and really fast. Some are tricky and inconsistent. Only complain is you can only buy drinks from proshop. No cart girl or hot food service, it could be because of coronavirus . Will be back again
Nothing good about this course
Greens were as high as fairway grass. Fairways were like roughs and tee boxes nothing to write home about.
All around awful
Guy in the pro shop was rude, they didn’t have any golf balls to buy at the course (I like to buy at the course to help fund their business), course was in terrible condition. Overall, the worst golf outfit I’ve experienced.
Conditions
The course was in terrible shape! Greens were horrible and the fair was like concrete.
Trying to say something nice!
My mama taught me that "if I didn’t have something nice to say...then don’t say anything at all." So here’s the deal...for every nice thing I can find to say about this course I will give it 1 star.
#1 - It was a beautiful, perfect day for golf!
#2 -This round was FREE because we had a $50 coupon
#3 - A person in front of me kept losing red balls that I happen to find !!!
Wait - None of those things have anything to do with the golf course! ????
#4 - The Red Tee box had a really nice advantage!!!
#5 - This county club course is HEAVY on COUNTRY! That must’ve been why I kept losing balls that I hit straight down the fairway!!!
Overall I would rank this one of the top three golf courses!!
Top three WORST golf courses I have ever played on. My mama also taught me to tell the TRUTH!!!
It WAS a beautiful day that I got so spend with the man I LOVE and it was a CHEAP date! Guess that is WORTH 1 STAR.
oh and the ladies tee box 2 STARS
condition of course
bad cart paths, greens aeed to be reseeded, one portapotte fof the on course tolet, and only a few carts (old).
