Much Improved!
The greens perked up from a few weeks ago. Plugs gone and sand only spotty. Grass was coming back nicely. Good day.
3 hrs 9 holes
I booked off of golf now, this is not their fault !!
Paid at course, seemed normal, had a starter, started backing up on the second hole, the three of us were behind a twosome, each of the holes we had close to 10 minute wait, by the end of nine, we find out that there was ( four ) fivesomes in front of us. I know at least nine players walked off. When saying something to the course marshal, he stated if we didn’t like the way they ran the course, there are other courses. So call before you book to make sure this doesn’t happen to you !!!
Great course
Tees, fairways, and greens all in great condition. Was cart path only due to recent rain. Had good drainage but muddy in spots. Looking forward to my next round there in the near future.
Rain Day
Got in 9 holes before the downpour of rain. Clubhouse was super accommodating and gave a rain check for 18 holes! Greens are firm and hard to stop the ball, but they’re brand new still. Tee boxes in great shape, fairways in decent shape. Great value!
Pretty nice course
Although, we got rained out after 6 holes, the course was well kept. Greens were slower than we expected. Staff was super friendly. We'll definitely play it again
Improved but not great
New greens are better than Ana Poa infested greens. There are dips and rough spots that need to be leveled. Remodeled restroom on course is very nice.
First time
Overall conditions were okay. Greens were punched recently and were a bit bumpy. Fairways and tees were decent, looks as though they have been worked on as well. I'm definitely play it again.
Best Value Around
Oak Hollow is great value for your money. Pave it play is always great. Clubhouse staff is the nicest. Tee boxes were in great condition, greens are firm but roll true, fairways are decent, but need punched. Love this course.
Not good value for cost of green fees
Course is not in very good shape from the moment you warm up until you get on the course
Driving range was basically hitting off of dirt as there was not any grass left at all. Not sure how long they have been hitting from the same spot but it was horrible
Tee boxes were average and at least had grass on them. Fairways were very bad and none of them had any grass at all. Basically playing off of hard pan regardless of where your ball was.
Greens were recently punched but rolled well
Pace of play was ridiculous as they let several larger groups play together. We were a few holes behind a group of six and behind us was a group of 7 players. Not sure why a course would even allow this especially on a Saturday mid day.
They didn’t have enough carts and we had to wait at #1 tee box until right before our tee time for carts to be returned to get carts to start our round.
For the price they charge to play here I would definitely not recommend it and won’t be back as there are to many course around in much. Better shape for what they charge you
Nice layout
Greens were pretty good, but like most DFW courses, the fairways were mostly hardpan. At $70, I start to expect better conditions. What would keep me coming back would be even slightly improved conditions because the practice facilities were great, as was the staff, and I liked the combo pro shop/snack bar.
Good course
The course is overall good, but the problem is too many golfers booked too close teetimes. Felt very rushed
Nice layout but...
I realize it's early April but this course is mostly hardpan and where not, swampy. Even Greens are hard so nothing holds and slow compared to most. Several putts stopped on the edge.
Great Layout
This course had an interesting layout. Greens were in good shape but the fairways sucked. Very friendly staff and attentive cartgirls
Way over priced!
If you like playing in an industrial park this course is for you! This is not a good value at $70. Fairways were bad. Overview course condition was rough. For the money, there are so many better options.
Not worth $70
The only good thing about this course is the tee boxes. Fairways are not in good shape and the greens hard as a rock. I wouldn’t recommend this place unless the prices go significantly down. Dont come here
Nice round...
Friendly staff, simple, straightforward course. The greens are hard and fast (in a good way), fairways are decent, as are tee boxes. Layout is nothing special. Good value, 4 hour round.
All and all it reminds of of Mesquite--not terribly long or challenging but the greens are the show here---big, hard, undulating and fast.
You can generally miss left or right, trees are small, and bunkers are there but not overly numerous and none in the fairway.
I've played it after a rain (not recommended---again like Mesquite) but on a dry day it was fun, fast and a good value at $30 when everywhere else in town not named Duck Creek wanted $45 or $50. I'd go back for sure.
Nice Day at Oak Hallow
A lot of improvements over the last year. Carts are electric and in very good condition. Greens were fast with fairly even surface. Pace of play was a little slow. It is spring break here, so lots of family groups playing. (That's a good thing}. All in all a good value for the money.
Greens are great, fairways, not so much
Greens were quick and very firm. Don't expect your balls to stop quick. They did roll true though, so overall, solid greens. Tee boxes were in great shape, but the fairways were non existent in some parts. A lot of clay/mud, and with the amount of rain we got recently, it was tough if you were anywhere outside the cart path.
Kitchen was being renovated so only had hot dogs, but it was still a good dog. Overall, it's a pretty good course. I would say 3.5 stars instead of 4, but I'd definitely come back to play and by then, fairways should be better.
