Apple Nine at Lyman Orchards Golf Club
About
Lyman Orchards has been growing fruit on the same rolling farmland for over a century. Not only are there nearly 100 varieties of pick-your-own fruit, Lyman boasts a Robert Trent Jones course and a Gary Player Course. Opened in 2012, the Apple Nine is the newest addition. The par-29 layout is the perfect alternative for golfers looking for less of a challenge than the two championship courses. It's tough enough to provide a good round of practice for more advanced players who want to shave a few strokes off their game but it also allows beginners and juniors to get a hang of the game. In addition to the three golf courses, the Apple Nine wraps around a driving range that has been recognized as one of the top 50 stand-alone ranges in the country.

A great beginner's course but …
My 8 year old son and i played yesterday at Lyman Orchards Apple 9 for the second time. The course played brilliantly and, as a beginner (playing for all of one year) he totally enjoyed the experience (again).
However, we were struck (adversely) by being charged $8.00 PER PERSON for ONE cart. Never before have i experienced a golf course charging PER PERSON for ONE cart. Astounding. So the cart cost us $16.00 - more than the round of golf for each of us (the round cost us $15.00 each).
Furthermore, when i expressed surprise about the cost of the cart, the fine gentleman at the pro shop made a rather sarcastic remark about wanting my job, whatever that meant.
We will play at Lyman Orchards again. Connecticut has few courses designed for the little people who are beginning to play the sport, but we will be walking with our clubs next time, and one sure hopes we do not encounter that fine gentleman again.
Great for beginners
Played with three beginners and we all enjoy the round
Great course!
Perfect course for a beginner golfer. Took the family out for Mother's Day. Course in great shape. Played 9 holes in 90 minutes.
Nice little course
Small yet fun, beautifully maintained greens were nice puts rolled true. Had a good time just wanted more.Cant wait to get back to Lyman Orchards and experance another one of the other course;s .
Nice little executive course
The course was well-maintained and the staff was friendly. Nothing spectacular but the Apple course is a great little course to get out for a quick 9 holes.
Apple Course At Lyman Orchards.
This is a great course for those just learning and for kids. It is also a great course to work on your short game. It is a par 29. The 2nd and 9th holes gives you a chance to break out your driver.
Nice par 3/4 course and will be back
Deal on Golf now and worth the time and money. Brought a rarely plays person and they enjoyed so good for beginners. Nice set up and very good deal.
Nice executive course
This is a nice "quick round of golf" course. Nicely maintained and very friendly staff.
Very new course
Course needs to mature. Greens are in great shape though. Not very hard at all. Great paratice facility
