Denman review
Whilst the club itself had great amenities and friendly staff the course was sadly waterlogged and too many temporary greens were in use which we were not informed about.
This is definitely a summer golf course and really should have been closed on New Year’s Day and our green fees refunded.
very good course
great course , great staff , the day only spoilt by the amount of leafs on the course making it sometimes impossible to find your ball ...but that said, it is that time of year ....would definitely play again and recommend to friends
Avoid until next year
Last time we played here the course was immaculate just after the Euro-Pro event. However, they are now rebuilding the 2nd hole shich will be out of action until next year. They should not be charging full price green fees on this basis & should notify you before you book.
The round was also spoilt by a fourball with buggies who held up the whole course & refused to let anyone through. Not the fault of the club but contributed to a poor experience on this occasion.
Back to its best
Had n't played Abridge for a couple of years. In the interim period, they have spent a lot of time & effort on the course & it was in fantastic condition. They recently had a Euro Pro event & clearly this has had an influence. Well done to all the Green Staff for its excellent presentation.
A grand day out…
Played Abridge with a friend, who has put his heart and soul in to rediscovering golf but plays simple courses. He thoroughly enjoyed the challenge and experience.
I love the range of holes at this course which I have played on several Society outings. Greens and tees were great but fairways look like they had a tough winter.
Great facilities, excellent pro-shop, charming bar staff so good breakfast before and snack with a pint after.
Paid £45 per person which was fair.
Disappointing TBH
there's lots of work ongoing with the front 9, which is fine, but there's no mention of this when booking, and at £40 a round, it seems excessive looking back for that price range. the greens were quite true in roll, but some of them where in terrible condition. they have a real issue with people not repairing pitch marks here. biggest downside was that once we hit the 13th tee, there were 3 old boys holding up 4 groups behind without calling anyone through, and just back logged the course. Now you may think that's not the courses fault, but they have a marshal driving around all day, who does nothing??
Mr Soo from singapore
Was recommended by a local friend and seeing is believing, the course has doglegs and subtle bunkers and roughs that will punish golfers if you are not sharp in your approaches. The course is long from the back tee and demand driving accuracies.
Perfect condition fairways like carpet
Lovely course played it for the first time today, some lovely holes and the greens and fairways are flawless. Super quick greens and fairways like carpet. Great value for money book to play again tomorrow
True review
Friendly pro shop and helpful. Lovely club house and facilities. Clean / up to date. Great condition tee boxes / bunkers and greens. Played about a 10- 10.5 on the stim. Putts rolled well. Challenging course layout with the elevation and wind changes. Abridge is a must play.
Super friendly.
Managed to get a game on the first day back to playing, starter Marshall, Mick, was super helpful, a credit to the club. Course was not at its best but to be expected, but club was doing everything possible to welcome everyone back. Am seriously considering applying for membership so can't say better than that.
Very very very MUDDY UNPLAYABLE
Unplayable in the winter so don’t waist your money! Hit middle off the fairways and lose your ball becase the coarse dong hold the water at all! Wait till summer! Play Hobbs cross round the corner
