The Courses at Watters Creek - Nov 13
Reasonably good course to play. There were no marshalls out on the course keeping play on pace.
The sixth hole needs a re-design to keep the flow of play going as only a perfect tee shot enable the golf to go for the green in two shots. This hole is always congested with two and three groups waiting on the tee box while those playing the hole are either looking for golf balls or hitting punch shots back to the fair so they can hit onto the green.
The sand traps need maintenance desperately. They looked like they hadn't been fully raked in a long time. Several bunkers had about a 1/4 inch of sand in the bottom and then wet hard pack underneath.
Greens need water to help them hold a little better. Very hard and fast with many bumps around the cups. Every cup is on a mound made when the greenskeeper pulls up the grass to make a new cup. They never tamp the new hole down flat, but always leave the cup on a mound.
Ryan’s review
Been going to this course for a while now and this was easily my least favorite experience. Me and my friend pay $30 for the tee time, and get told we only get one cart. We then have to pay an extra $10 dollars to get another one. I’m just confused as to why we only get one, when half the payment is for the cart. There was also all kinds of trash all in the back of my cart as well. I then get to hole 1 green and there is a huge black streak across the green. Pay of play was also horrible. Honestly felt like a waste of my money not gonna lie. Very disappointed. Hopefully just an off day on y’all’s part.
Slow Play on thé 9 hole course
Happy to have played in January, but found the pace of play annoyingly slow. Also, was unable to park in the lot…never before has that occurred.
Refund
When I made my reservation I did not know that I was going to be playing the same nine holes twice to equal 18 holes for the ground. When I got to the pro shop the guy explained this information to me but also let me know that they had two courses. He told me that I could pay now and pay for the other course which was a regular 18 hole golf course and that I should contact you guys to refund because I feel like I was misled.
I’m not sure if it was just the day I decided to go but pace of play was horrible. You’d be waiting 5-10 minutes to tee off at every hole with someone else waiting behind you on your heels. Not a very enjoyable experience. Staff is amazing and the course was in decent shape given the time of year
Bring your short irons...
The course was pretty dry...greens a bit slow and tee boxes tattered..Layout could be a tad longer or have some better variety between holes.. However, its always fun to do a par 3 course and the rates are reasonable. I will say the cart could use some work..brakes so so, torn seat cushion......
The Players Course at Watters Creek
Very fun place to play. Reasonable prices and no one pushing you to play faster.
9 hole side
Played the 9 hole with one of my friends. Nice little 9, was able to go around twice in 3 hours, probably could have finished faster but the friend I was playing with was a beginner. Definitely coming back and trying out the 18.
