Excellent experience

Had a very enjoyable round. Fairways and greens in excellent condition, even more so considering the recent rain. Interesting layout and a good test

Pleasant afternoon on the Westwood.

Having learnt to play here 50 years ago it was good to return. Not much had changed although the 4th, 11th and 18th have been altered to take the roads out of play. I enjoyed the round and appreciated the local rules on animal debris and the fencing around the greens. The members were friendly and the greens in good condition. Some of the tees were in a poor state and the third hole was cut short. There was no signage to the temporary tee or indication of yardage.

A unique course in the area

Beverley Golf course is not the most challenging course you will ever play and if privacy is important to you then you may want to look elsewhere. What it does offer is something different from any other courses in the area, it is built on public land and there are often cows roaming the course and so all greens have low fences around them to protect them. Also you will encounter dog walkers some of whom may be a little unfamiliar with golf etiquette and possibly picnickers who may choose to use the bunkers as sandpits for their children (extreme case!). The course is quite short in length, but the holes are not all straight up and down and each one presents a different challenge. When we played the fairways had been cut quite narrow, but the first cut of rough was about two inches deep; if you are more wayward then balls will be difficult to find.
I have always enjoyed playing Beverley and would encourage others visiting the area to try it, Beverley itself is also a lovely place to spend some time.

Worse golf course I've ever played on

Cows all over the course, cow poo everywhere, fences around the greens for obvious reasons but still very annoying. I was playing on my own behind a ladies 4 ball, they were obviously new to the game and wouldn't let me play through. Dog walkers all over the course just walk right in front of you and don't move out the way. I DEFINITELY will never play there again even if you payed me to.
