Nice course for the price and what it is. Could do with signage up for what holes what but not too difficult to work out. Could be a top track with some investment. Defo recommend for beginners or jus for a cheap round 👍🏾
Too boggy
Turned up to play only to be told 7 holes were closed and no trolleys allowed. A simple phone call to let me know would have been appreciated. Eventually offered me the use of a carry bag which was probably older than Moses himself 😂 but appreciated none the less. The whole course should have been closed in those conditions, or at least armbands should have been supplied for safety reasons,
Great value for money
Course was in good condition considering the rain that had been put down in the previous week. Greens ran true and the fairways were well maintained. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. For what we paid for the round I think it is very good value for money.
Autumn
Disappointed that the 4 ball in front of didn't do the honorable thing and wave me through as I was playing on my own. The people behind them continued to build. It was ridiculous. When approached they said they didn't need to as they were playing in a competition.
First time
A great 18 holes, 3rd hole is across the main road and has no indication due to signs been stolen as the course is open to public access. Don't let that put you off as the groundstaff are brilliant and the course is in very good condition.
Loved it might even sign up to membership 😁
So I currently have a membership at a other course but fancied a change for my birthday, so booked this course as it's only round the corner from my house, over the years the council had let it get in bad way but wow since its been taken over its change massively compared to how I remember it, that much I might even sign up to a membership here 😁😁
The course is in great condition. Fantastic couple of rounds.
Lovely course all round
Course in excellent condition with the greens very friendly.
Great layout!
I hear the Council are trying to close half the course - PLEASE DON'T!! It's a great layout and a good test of golf and with a tiny bit more work (e.g. cutting the greens more frequently) it would be stupendous.
I played here 50+ years ago as a Junior Member and have so many happy memories of the course - let it prosper!!
A good deal.
Played this for next to nothing£. Excellent Alistair Mackenzie course, Council owned, small details neglected.. Good test of golf, first 9 better than back 9.
Council tying to sell it off for development! What a waste.
Good Experience
Overall a good course to play
Fair set up with some tricky holes
Greens were in good nick
Tees a bit rough
Friendly course
Been a few times and enjoy my rounds. Really good layout. Staff are always friendly too.
