Just a nice water hazard to get over Photo submitted by Uz276GW53QTNlHsllAIs on 04/15/2021
Great value for money course
A clean, tidy and friendly course.
Great value for money and good fun to play.
Can’t wait to go back
Lovely course especially in the hot weather. Really enjoyed it. Greens were in very good condition
Over priced and Not cared for
Having returned after a couple of years away I was looking forward to my return as had always enjoyed my visits. However teeing off on the first with a tee box that was like a mud patch and would have been better in the rough made me think what has happened. Hoping it was just the first it continued throughout the round. Tee boxes are the worst I have played on and the greens where very poor. Little care seems to have been taken and it was like the course hadn’t been touched since the winter. £30 for a twilight with the course in this condition was terrible value for money. What else riled me is that everything was locked up and couldn’t even enjoy a drink after our round as everyone had gone home. Very sad to see it like this and will not be returning! Such a shame
Parkland golf course
This is an obvious parkland course with busy non golf foot traffic.
Having played after a week of rain it was very muddy which clouded my view of the course.
I will return in the spring to give this course the opportunity to impress me.
Great value for money
Cracking wee course with a few feature holes which really offer something special. Well worth the money it was just a shame we lost the light, so were unable to finish all 18 holes
Bletchingley GC - Oct 2020
The course held up quite well given the recent deluge of rain in the UK - obviously some parts were still pretty soggy but overall there was still some decent run on the fairways.
Greens were a little unpredictable and rough in parts.
Speed of play was horrendous - playing in a 2-ball shouldn't take nearly 5 hours to get around a course.
At one point there were 3 x 2-balls on one hole. Slower groups were refusing to let quicker groups play through .
Interesting course
Excellent greens with some interesting holes and not expensive
So slow
Never been to this course before but I won’t be rushing back, never seen a slower pace of play! 9 holes took well over 2 hours as a solo. Had to walk off after 9.
Tee boxes are not in good condition.
Bletchingley is a delight
Having not played the course before, Bletchingley was a delightful find. The course is naturally challenging but also has a wide variety of hole types. Thoroughly enjoyed and would highly recommend
High hopes
I have played many courses in the South and was looking forward to playing Bletchingley. Not cheap at £80 for a 2 ball so my expectations were high. We booked a 850 tee As always nice to have a tea or coffee before playing , however on arrival at 0800 there was nothing open, some score cards were left outside the closed pro shop. No one else was queuing so we decided to head towards the tee box, we then saw that the there was someone in the pro shop so my uncle went to find out if there was any chance of a coffee. He said the staff in pro shop was friendly and that there was a decent coffee to take away.... so not all was lost . We then made our way to the tee box and it didn’t look too good, I know there has been a lot of dry weather but there was more dirt and dust on the tee box than grass. This was the same for quite a lot of the fairway, we decided to play pick and place so that we could find some grass to hit off. This was the case for almost all of the tee boxes, The back 9 got a bit better but we were both pretty disappointed by the conditions of the course. This was not worth £40 to play and although the layout of the course was nice , and there were some lovely looking holes we won’t be returning as it’s just not value for the money they are asking
Pretty course with lakes and views
Quite challenging with a few dog legs. Looking forward to going again now I know the course. The course is well sign posted and each hole has a map of layout at tee off.
Good condition for Sept
Course very playable a bit dry but that is no surprise. Greens have plenty of grass...tees are a bit bare but overall would play again .
Disapointing
Having played this course multiple times I was disappointed to see the state of the course. All the tee boxes were in poor condition and some of them hardly had any grass on them at all. Greens had recently been sliced which I appreciate is something that needs doing but there wasn't any warning of this when I booked.
The pace of play was abysmal and the course marshal didn't appear until the 11 only to find a group 3 holes in front of us has lost 2 holes to the group in front of them, causing a backlog throughout the course. Had the marshal been out on the course more he may have been able to increase everyone's pace of play.
Its a lovely course and I enjoy the layout and the challenge it offers but the condition was below what I had come to expect from previous visits.
Tee boxes are severly damaged, worn and uneven often with little or no grass, the greens were slow but both areas understandable due to the high footfall traffic of this popular gold course.
Over rated
Played this course last week after being looking like a decent course online. Found all of the tee boxes to be in really bad condition off the yellows and also the whites. Some holes are interesting and provide a challenge but overall not a tough course . Some greens are really small which provides a good challenge . Wouldn’t return purely on condition of tees. Nice halfway hut for refreshment
Fine Course
8 of us played on a humid and drizzling August day. We all really liked the interesting layout with elevation changes, dog legs and water. The course was in good nick considering the heat wave. Some tee boxes were a bit sandy but otherwise highly recommended. £50 price was a bit high though.
