Excellent Layout / Horrific Staff
My buddy and I played Buffalo Creek for the first time yesterday. I really liked the course (outside of the bunkers being closer to asphalt than sand), but with a few exceptions the staff left something to be desired.
When we arrived, we were told we would need to wait for a cart. Fifteen minutes before our tee time we were able to get on, that we had to clean out ourselves. The cart died on the way to the first tee. We were able to swap to a different cart and start our round. Through the round, this cart became increasingly slower until we actually had to help push it up hills on the 13th hole. We called the clubhouse and were told that someone would bring us a cart. They never showed. The other people playing with us were kind enough to use their cart to push us anytime we weren't going downhill for the rest of the round.
When we were finally pushed to the clubhouse at the end of the round, the gentleman working didn't seem concerned. He initially offered just me a free weekday round (ignoring my buddy who was also in the cart and was standing right next to me). We live roughly 45 minutes to an hour away, so that wasn't going to happen. He reluctantly wrote on a piece of random paper that we could have a free weekend round.
Outside of a few maintenance issues, I really liked the course itself. That's the unfortunate part as I really don't see myself going back.
Love Love Love this course!
One of the best layouts in DFW and in great condition.
Overpriced
Played the course Saturday for the first time in a long time. Had heard about course upgrades. Whatever upgrades had been made were tough to spot. The course has some nice holes and it was in ok condition considering we are just coming out of winter. But it is not a $100 course. It just isn’t. But they charge $100 because they can get $100. The greens were in poor condition but should improve as the weather gets warmer.
It has a nice range
As far as I could tell the chipping green and putting green are one and the same
Great value for this course
One of my favorite local courses. Great layout. tough in certain spots but scoreable. Friendliest cart girl in the world. The only thing i would change is not hitting off mats on range.
Good put pricey
Course up to the greens is in great shape, however the greens need a little work. They roll well but every hole has many replaced holes that haven’t been properly repaired so they disrupt putts. When I say many, I mean like 20+ and unfortunately they all seem to be relatively close to the current hole. Staff is friendly and food is good. Price for a round is almost double to comparable courses in the area. Green conditions don’t justify a $90 round.
Great condition
Course is in great condition, greens are fast and fair
Buffalo Creek fun
Always a fun round at Buffalo Creek and the staff is always top notch and friendly!
Little rough
Staff was super friendly unlike the first time I played here years ago.
Course was in winter conditions grass and greens wise. My complaint was all the divots. It was pretty choppy! Greens were on condition.
Enjoyed the course and will play it again.
Friendly and Challenging
The staff is accommodating the food is great the range and short game practice area are top notch and the course is challenging and fun. Greens are lightning and run true. 11/10 will play here again.
Great condition for December!
The staff was extremely friendly! Free warm up range balls included with green fee. Free bottled water and coffee too! The course was in excellent shape and they painted the fairways green. The greens were very fast and ran pretty true. Don't play as much break as you think! Overall great experience - I'll be back!
Range balls included
Overall enjoyable experience, even though weather wasn't the best. Course was in nice conditions, average pace of play, and those working were extremely polite and informative. Will DEFINITELY play again, but I tend to play slightly lower green fees
Nice course overall
Overall a good experience, I liked the course. Has some fun and challenging holes. Only bad experience I had was with the Marshall. Drive by and I said good morning and he just say “you all need to hurry up”. We were on pace the entire time. We even had caught up with the group in front of us. Keeping players aware of the pace isn’t a problem. I don’t understand why he had to be so rude. Made me want to be confrontational and took away from the round.
